At last.

Someone on NSC who understands the complexities of the process.

:clap2::clap2::clap2:

I don't think anyone is denying that it is complex or that the club aren't working on it. It's just the communication from the club is once again very poor.

So far it's been

August, get ground...yay!
September, Ken Brown comes in to take over from Perry's day to day role so he can concentrate on Falmer.

And errrmmmm that's it.

It really wouldn't take much effort to keep the Stadium page on the website up to date (Nov 13th was the last entry).

we should be "actively seeking" investment, as we have been told we are doing, but have shown absolutely no sign of actually doing.

Why do you expect such information to be in the public domain? How many companies do you see announcing to all and sundry the details of who they've approached for investment, how much they want said parties to invest, and so on? No-one I've worked for has publicised such information until contracts have been signed, why should Brighton & Hove Albion be any different in this regard?

It astounds me that people seem to think the club has gone through YEARS of securing a stadium without any idea as to how they'll fund it, or what exactly they are building!

We know that Price Waterhouse Coopers are working on the funding package which will be costing us the proverbial arm and a leg, but they ought to know what they are doing.

So I remain optimistic despite only really believing it when it happens.

PricewaterhouseCoopers has agreed to pay $51 million plus interest to settle a class action lawsuit brought by investors in business software company MicroStrategy who alleged auditing irregularities by the accountants, according to a report by the Washington Post.

The shareholders sued because they said PwC defrauded them when the firm approved an audit of MicroStrategy’s 1999 profit figures. In March 2000, MicroStrategy revised its 1998 and 1999 results, thereby revealing that the company was making a loss, not a profit as the reults previously stated. The following month, the company said the US Securities and Exchange Commission was investigating how it records revenues.

Hmmmm.

Payments such as those are covered by insurance that all auditors have.

In a recent match programme (I forget which), Dick Knight said that there would be "exciting" news on the stadium in the new year. I know that, instinctively, Albion fans are pessimists on any matter relating to the stadium, but we should trust Dick Knight and Martin Perry as they have brought the club to its present pass, having overcome every obstacle.

I suspect this is the road show coming up shortly.

Bang on.

No reason whatsoever for the club to be telling us about every deal they go for. It's complicated, and no doubt confidential stuff.

So long as it gets there in the end, who cares about hearing every detail in the meantime??

Beach Hut as financial pundit. Do any NSCers have any other examples of his expertise in this field?

Cheeky monkey, I just pointed out various people are convinced it will not be built.

Hasn't Brighton council also had to give a certain amount of notice to the farmer for the field and Brighton Uni to demolish some buildings which are to be built elsewhere on the campus?

Perfectly valid point, however I bet no-one you've ever worked for has requested donations from customers to get some temporary staff, or announced they need donations totalling £1.5m to make up the shortfall enabling them to trade until the following May, or the many other versions of the begging bowl that football trots out. What I'm saying that this is like no other business.

Having said that, it's not the fact that we are not told of approaches, it's more the tone of the announcements from Knight regarding the rumours of David Gold looking to invest. He sounds appalled at the suggestion, and sounded like he fully intended to be the man still in power the day we walk out at Falmer. When I want to hear positive noises about us talking to potential investors, no names, just some encouraging noises would be nice.

Eh? When did he sound appalled at the idea of David Gold investing in the club?

I have no recollection of this public rebuttal. Perhaps someone can enlighten...?
