When we go down Slade will not be here. Manager number 5 within 12 months then.

We need someone to assess the players for this season, but quite honestly we need a new broom to sweep out 75% of the squad, and also change the backroom staff.

Quite honestly lets have a much smaller squad with quality players - instead of this season's bloated squad with overpaid crap in it!

I would get a decent manager in, and get the squad trimmed down to a small tight number and bring in some people who can play football. We have an incredibly and ridiculously large squad riddled with mediocrity. Get rid of the headless chickens a la Frazer, El Abd etc.

You could get rid of half the squad with no discernible drop in quality. If you get injuries cover them with loans.

We need to get promoted asap and to be at least in div1 when Falmer opens.
I personally would like someone like Peter Taylor back in charge,he worked wonders at Hull and is doing well at Wycombe and knows the lower leagues very well imo.

Easier said than done.
When a club starts sliding ( as we are doing now )...it doesn't just turn round because you are at a lower level. Our current set of players have a losing mentality, have not performed for any manager this season and are clearly suffering a complete loss of confidence.
If the management changes again in the close season, then there will be another period of readjustment.
Clubs that only narrowly get relegated have a decent chance of bouncing back but we could go down 8-9 points adrift of safety.
On that basis, it looks like a two year plan to get out of Div.2 ( at best )

I'm assuming Russell Slade has been brought in with the specific task of keeping us up. If he fails to fulfill that, I don't see why he should be kept on. In fairness to him, I think he has been hamstrung by the decision to retain the backroom staff who have had so much influence over our poor season and, in my opinion, are as culpable as Micky Adams for our impending relegation. The decision to play Adam Virgo in midfield yesterday was surely an example of this; Slade must have been persuaded by his coaches that Virgo was a viable option there.

For me, if we go down there has to be a cull of backroom staff. Bring in a new man with his own completely fresh coahing team. And it needs to be done quickly. The writing is on the wall, the board need to be thinking about it NOW, drawing up a shortlist, so that an effective assessment of the current playing staff can be made by the new coaching staff before they all just drift off. Anything less than that and I'll be severely disappointed.

Slade is not good enough. Even as a league two team we can do better than that with our stadium on the way.

How does that work? If Russell Slade was the best we could get when Adams went, What better manager will we get when we are a league lower?
imo Slade is the best we can hope for in league 2 so we should stick with him to build his own team, not the dross he has inherited.

Totally agree. The way people think we will be inundated with applications from top quality managers having just been relegated to League 2 is just priceless!

Slade's a decent option. Another change means more time wasted with someone else having to re-evaluate the players and decide what needs changing. Give Slade a 2 year contract and tell the players he will decide their future in the summer.

Is probably the answer, however it's hardly going too inspire STH sales, and with this approach you'll looking at 4000 on average next season.

We could do with a 'name' too take over and bring some excitement back!

People will support a winning team - simple as that. Micky Adams was a 'name' manager who was brought in for the very purpose of building the pre-Falmer excitement and selling more season tickets......

Was he the best that we could get as there were strong rumours about Pardew but apparently he wanted a 3 yr contract and completly revamp the back roomstaff. We obviously do not know if this is just rumour or the truth.

Whoever it is,he must be allowed to employ his own choice of assistants/coaching staff, call them what you will. There must also be a rationalisation of the playing staff and let us please, please build our team around Brighton players. We have been far too reliant on loan players and I have expressed the opinion before that it is not the way to build a firm foundation for the future. This season we have had 39 or so players feature in the first team and look at the state we are in.....many of the loanees are no better than existing staff.
If,Slade does not stay,I would like to see Gannon here, although it is likely he may receive seemingly more attractive offers.Nevertheless,Div2 or not,a club with bags of untapped potential,a new stadium on the horizon,a chance to build a team and coaching staff in your own image, may seem an attractive enough proposition for a clear thinking, strong minded individual!!

Get a new manager in, let him get rid of whoever he wants and give him at least a season to build things.

With his former club AND his current club both in the bottom four I would suggest Slade might not be the best LONG TERM option...

the problem here is that deadly Dick has shown that he is fiercly loyal to staff( apart from managers) and therein lies the problem.

Didn't you think Adams was good enough? Shows what you know.
