You really are depressed aren't you Sim? Just think about how you'll feel when the announcement comes in October that Falmer is a goer. Different ball game. And obviously don't think about the 'it's dead in the water, back to square one' scenario, doesn't bear contemplation.

Yes I am. My 20 month old son is in St Georges Hospital (in Tooting of all places) for 2 weeks, my contract coes to end in mid August and Albion have lost their best players having just got relegated.

It's fair to say I'm not in the best frame of mind.

I think Alun Armstrong would be a solid striker in Div 2, and he is on a free. If we got Onoura and say Giallanza turns out to be 80% of the player he was before he got injured we could be OK up front. OGH would score 10 goals at least as a support striker, and I would play Piercy in midfield instead of him. As I've stated in other threads Mcphee could give us another option up front.

I can't see it happening, but if Kitson hasn't found a club we could re-sign him on a month to month contract and see how he does. He looked to have regained his fitness at the end of the season, and would be a quality striker (if injury free) for us next year.

In midfield we aren't too badly off as Carpenter and Rodger will be soild at Div 2 level. Marney and Hammond will come through this year as well I reckon but we do lack a bit of width and creativity now Brooker has gone.

In defence I'd have liked us to have signed Jason Crowe, but he is on trial at Grimsby at the moment. If one of Virgo, Hinshelwood or Harding comes through next year we could be OK at the back as well.

All of the above assumes we are going for a playoff place at best though. To be challenging QPR and Bristol City we'd need at least one more proven striker and an attacking midfielder. I think we will rely heavily on loan signings once the season starts (as we did last season), and I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple more Arsenal youngsters down here (Bentley is supposed to be good).

Simster Im sorry to hear that. My best friends 4 month old baby has been in St Georges for the last 2 months and they are having a nightmare with shit staff who have just about managed to do everything wrong that they possibly could have which has already led to 2 extra operations that shouldnt have been required. They have been told they could be there another 2 months :nono:

Ive been visiting them a couple of times a week and know how grim it is in there, Is your lad in Nichols Ward?

Sorry to hear about your son Simster. You have my sympathy, not least because St George's is a crap hospital.

I've had the misfortune to be treated there several times and it's one of the worst hospitals I've come across.

Yes he is mate! we're in number 1.

Gwylan, as it goes, I haven't got many problems with St Georges. Sam was born there and the maternity people are very good. I did get pissed off yesterday when we waited all day for a 15 minute operation under a general anesthetic because of "changing priorities". How do you explain to a 20 month old boy that although he's had no drink for 7 hours and no food for 26 hours it is all for his own good?

I have heard horror stories from there though, but we've had worse service when going private!

Dont know what number my mate is in but hes in the room directly facing the desk where all the nurses sit, they have had a mare, so bad in fact that a doctor pulled out the line feeding his daughter that had been surgically inserted into her chest for the second time.

My mate kicked off royally at him and had to leave before he punched him becasue the dr was being so arrogant about what hed done.

I'll look out for him Dan. I think we might have spent last Thursday night in his block actually.

Anyway, my mood has lifted because my wife has just told me that Sam has started walking for the first time in 15 days - so the antibiotics are obviously working and the bone infection in his foot is being dealt with properly. Hooray! :drink: :clap2:

I like Wimbledon, the village has a top feel to it , gets a bit rougher as you head towards South Wimbledon but I cant really comment on that since I moved to Peckham

Am looking at moving back over that way soon but think that the best investment is in buying South East at the moment.

South Wimbledon has really come up in the past few years. You have to go to Colliers Wood before it gets rough, and even that is being a bit harsh. South Wimbledon isn't rough at all anymore.

We bought our first place five years ago in South Wimbledon just off the bend at the bottom of the broadway) - it was a two bed flat, we paid £100k and we sold it 2 years later for double that. And even in this suppressed market, you couldn't buy that flat for less than £260k even now.

Can't argue with your comments on SE London, although of course it is still a pain if you're nowhere near the tube - but there are pockets of SE London that are good value.

Unfortunately I have been advised that Crystal Palace is on the hot list of areas to buy property as prices are still rising steadily round there. My girlfriend suggested we look round there for somewhere but I following my response it wont be suggested again.

Yeah coz we all think it's the managers at football clubs that set the transfer fee :dunce:

Why don't you change the f***ing record concerning DK you muppet!
