according to News of the world, Barry Fry has said-
"I heard coppell is lining up a bid of £500,000 for Leon mckenzie,
i can tell him now not to bother i wont sell him that cheap"

I reckon Iffy Anuora can do a job for us with luke rodgers, with Mcphee in back up.(im getting carried away with his crawley performance maybe?!)
and hopefully this Wilson Denis chap ,comes good.

Sorry fatty but if we offer £300k and offer to double his wages, you will have no choice. Unless of course you want a stroppy demotivated player on your books.

I'm not convinced about Onuora, although Zamora's sale means that we can surely compete for his signature...

I have to say that I'm feeling totally depressed this season. I haven't been as indifferent to the start of a season as I am to this one for years. :( :( :(

Aaah but Simster once it starts you'll get excited again. I just think of the roar at Oldham when i feel a bit disheartened about the state of affairs.

Yeah well I'm not going. And I won't be glued to teletext either. I'm fed up of selling our best players for buttons, playing at a shit running track venue and generally doing a thoroughly good job of looking like a tin pot outfit while meanwhile our rivals like Palace, Portsmouth, Reading and Cardiff all have something to look forward to.

I don't blame anyone but I've got used to success and want some more.

Simster, Neon Leon is out of contract at the end of this season and Fry has already turned down £300k from Wigan.

He's a sulky git, even when he's not injured, scores goals for fun at this level mind.

What about Ben Burgess? Would he be up for coming back to Steve Coppell?

I reckon we'll get a loan player for the season up front & then get one of Steve's old boys.

Of those mentioned, Mckenze is too old & injury prone, Rodgers is a piss artist, Rougier won't score enough, and Beckett will cost a lot

Do i detect a hint of positivity from you today Mullers????

??? I am always positive about Steve Coppell's ability to spot talent and do a good deal. Did you see how he let everone know that Dick Tight agreed the price for Bobby, not him!:lolol:

i think silent has told steve cr@ppel to be patient and pick up the last minute bargains as there are bound to be several professionals without clubs come days before and after the season officially starts more than ever before as there is less money about and its possible and i suggest probable that these platers wont and cant demand excessive wages which the Albion clearly cant pay and therefor we pick up the leftovers, though this could pay off, its a gamble. Id like to see the club take a look and a chance in the lower divisions why not try out some non-league players as these are unlikely to cost more than the club can afford and the difference in talent is reducing all the time, Id say at least hald the conference clubs could hold there own in professinal football and many existing professional clubs like Calrilse are a disgrace to the standard of football in this country and should be relegated to the conference as soon as possible.

So it's Scott Ramsey to replace Bobby Zamora then!:lolol: :lolol: :lolol:

When will people realise Rougier is not wanted.
Otherwise Im sure SC would have him in by now.
And he isnt good enough for a promotion push.

Keep the faith SC will provide.

I cant see us getting anyone better than Rougier to be honest, DK simply cant afford wages for anyone better, Rougier is better than any striker we have at the club now and SC does rate him, we know that from what he said about him, so i dunno what the problem is, maybe DK cant even afford Rougiers wages?
???

Rougier wants to come here as well, he made that blatantly clear when on loan and after he went back to Reading. Maybe SC wants to see what this Giallianzaillianza is like before considering the 12 + 1inch!

I think we'll get loan players in. This brings the quality right up and we shouldn't have to pay much for their wages.

Sorted.

Wise words. Spurs have got 3 strikers and they won't need them all. I doubt we could afford the wages of £7m Robbie Keane or that £6.5m capture of that unknown from Portugal. But they've also got this kid they paid peanuts for. He's probably a bit shit as he cost about one fifth of the amount they paid for their other two strikers but it might be worth Coppell making one or two enquiries for his services on a loan basis? ???

You really are depressed aren't you Sim? Just think about how you'll feel when the announcement comes in October that Falmer is a goer. Different ball game. And obviously don't think about the 'it's dead in the water, back to square one' scenario, doesn't bear contemplation.
