How about Brian Talbot at Rushden,he has done wonders there on little money, and he said in the paper yesterday that he has taken the team as far as possible and is now finding it a struggle!!

Brian Talbot, no thanks. He spent a fortune and 3 seasons getting them out of the Conference despite being overwhelming favourites every year, just like Barry Fry did at Barnet and we all know how clueless he is.

I'd rather go for the Yeovil or Donny managers myself. Also the bloke at Aldershot is doing a great job although unproven at league level.

I may be a bit behind the times but there was that big interview with Howard Wilkinson in the Sheff.Wed programme saying he was looking to come out of temporary retirement....

Please, no!

Dear God, if you're listening to this mate, help us out here. Send JOhn Madejski an angel while he sleeps, to whisper "HOward Wilkinson" in his ear.

They persisted with the flawed 5-3-2 wing-back system long after it had gone out of fashion, and it was always such a badly flawed system that even Brian Horton and Micky Adams eventually dispensed with it.

5-3-2 was good for us last season at first, like in the wolves away game

I said flawed 5-3-2 wing-back system. The Albion wing-backs never crossed the half-way line against Wolves at Molineux. If you are bottom of the table against one of the promotion favourites, it is always OK for the odd match to stick an extra defender in at the back.

The best thing that Steve Copple did was to ensure the team played 4-4-2 as a basis of the system, as certain players that Micky Adams signed were for his 5-3-2 system (which he has now abandoned). Until Copple signed Zesh, that's all he really did, apart from trying to unload our best goalkeeper to Hull.

As long as we get an outside Manager out of the footballing school (not the old-style Dons), not 5-3-2 with wing-backs. I would be inclined to get rid of Paul Watson (to Port Vale), John Piercy (to Whitehawk) and move Kerry Mayo into a different role.

I expect any new Manager will be hamstrung by thye ever so tight purse strings, which has already causes the expected upset with Simon Rodger's injury and the lack of funds meant the other left-sided player could not be signed from Brentford.

Really, I would tend to think this was the reason why Steve Copple departed, cause he was frustrated at the limitations, like working with a pre-Pentium computer or getting single tickets for Withdean (eventually the frustration and hassle becomes too much).
