Trying in this thread to encompass all the names of the mangers who have been associated with the job over the past week or so. Some are those that appear when any job becomes available (i.e Graham Rix, Roy Evans, John Gorman) others are shamelessly put here by myself having thought of them (Colin Addison) and the rest are those that have appeared in threads on the subject or subject of rumour (Dowie, Adams etc). I'm sure theres more but nobodies perfect.

Then 6 categories are below in order to rank these names against. I'd be interested to see what other people think. Personally as long as the new man in charge has a reputation for passing on the deck (hence why I'm unsure about Cotterrill and Kinear) & knows the lower divisions (why I dont want Tony Adams et al) I'll be happy.

Personal preference : Iain Dowie
Would like : Addison, Rosenior, Parkinson
Would Accept : Simon Morgan, Bob Booker, Macari, Clough
Dont Want : T Adams, Kinnear, Cotterill, Roy Evans
Especially dont want : Hoddle, Bryan Robson, Graham Rix
Stop going : Hinshlewood, Carlton Palmer, Lawrie Sanchez.

CV's

Dowie : Current Oldham Manager.
Addison : Current Forest Green manager, formerly Celta Vigo amongst others.
Rosenior : Current Torquay manager
Parkinson : Current Colchester manager.
Clough : Current burton Albion manager.
Booker : Coach B'ton
Morgan : Coach Fulham??
Macari : Sacked Huddersfield (Formerly, Leon's manager at Huddesfield where he was also successful, hence Would accept)
Adams : Currently in a North London bar.
Kinnear : Sacked Luton Town. Also previous Wimbledon
Cotterill : Sacked Coach Sunderland, Took Cheltenham into Football league.
Evans : Sacked Swindon??
Hoddle : Sacked Tottenham
Robson : Sacked Middleborough
Rix : Wandsworth Nick
Hinshelwood : Director of Football Brighton
Palmer : Sacked Stockport
Sanchez : Sacked Wycombe

Brian Little could be added to the list.
He has been on record saying he wants to get back into management asap.
Dont want him though.

The long-ball thing against Cotterill & Kinnear is a bit over-done. Coppell & Adams were also known as long-ball managers too & they've both done great jobs.

For me, Dowie or Kinnear would be ideal

Polling North Standers
.....................Ian Chapman!

CV - took Whitehawk football club from near bottom of Sussex 1st div to runners up last season.
Turned down the Lewes job cause he's Brighton through and through.

Top choice.

Dowie or Kinnear for me Tony Adams would also do...

We will not get a manager who is currently in work with another club, DK cant afford the compensation, however Dowie is ok as he's only on weekly contracts so no compo needed.

I know he won't come here and, as such, all discussions are academic, but why do so many people have a down on Glenda?

He did pretty well at Swindon and Southampton and not bad at Chelsea. He did OK for England too.

He had to rebuild the Spurs team and then got sacked before he'd even started. He got slagged off by the likes of Sherwood but Sherwood was very much a Graham sort of player. There are plenty of people who will attest to the fact that Hoddle has an acute footballing brain.

He wouldn't be one of my choices either, so I'm glad he wouldn't be tempted here - but I'm not sure why he deserves such vituperation. Is it purely because of his remarks about disabled people or are there other reasons?

I say balls lets poach someones manager, why should we always be the nice guys.

I'm with you on that thought Tinx-time for DK to show the rest of football that we're now the nasty bastards of football and if any other tinpot club comes knocking on his door to poach our next manager they can piss right off followed by his boot up their gusset.
