did we really wear the centenery shirt for two years? will bow down to your undoubtedly superior knowledge

are we missing a trick commercially by not replacing at least one shirt this summer? esp as we've not got 20k+ attending week in week out

Yup we did, I think it was originally meant to be just for one year, but as the previous shirt (1999/2000) was only a one year shirt I think the club thought better of releasing a third new home shirt in three years (if course, they'll say it was because the centenary shirt was so popular).

The red and black striped shirt was actually used for 3 seasons.

As for next season, I'm really not sure why they changed minds on changing the green and black shirt, the tag in the side seam reads "Seasons 2011-2012". Maybe someone rather over ordered and they have thousands more to get rid of.

Anyone remember that joke of a situation we had 2/3 years back where we had a home, away and third all at least half BLUE? Meaning we had to borrow Leicester's away kit, I think it was. Made us look really tinpot.

That was the match where Micky Adam's said the players 'showed pride in the shit', or something to that effect.

Superphil Am I correct in thinking the 99/00 shirt is a blue/white version of the red/black away shirt?

Pretty much yes it is. Errea did do a 'customer' version very similar to that shirt, teams like Cheltenham and Newport County used those versions, I think the original mock up for ours was a 'customer' version, but then was altered slightly to make it unique to us. Somthing to do with the sponsor patch on the front was made solid rather than tinted, and the collar had different detail.

Cool, cheers
Another question :) I have a white long sleeve shirt with blue detailing and the sponsor is ITs. Is this the shirt we wore away against Dagenham in 10/11 season?

There were a number of instances in the recent past

2005 - 2006 season, Home, Away, Third and a one-off due to potential colour clash with Palace.

2008 - 2009 season, Home, Away, Third and the "2-off" shirt for away games at Shrewsbury & Millwall.

2010 - 2011 season, Home, Away and a "2-off" shirt used for away trips to Dagenham & Redbridge and Leyton Orient, it was used for the Orient game it was because apparently the home kit hadn't come back from the cleaners.*

* Bizzare Fact, until Gus came to the club, the players had to wash their own kits, Gus thought this was preposterous for a professional cub, so immediately commissioned a cleaning firm to wash the team kits. At the Amex there is a huge laundry room.

There were 2 similar shirts, yes one was worn at D&R and the other was worn at Shrewsbury & Millwall, you'll need to take a closer look at the photos here Brighton & Hove Albion football shirts

Just got back from holiday in Mallorca, and saw the new shirt in a few places and IMO looks very nice. The lettering and numbering on the back of the shirt is also very different from what you'd usually expect from most shirts. Got myself the new RCD Mallorca away shirt whilst out there as well, very nice shirt imo.
