Was it really a power struggle? By all accounts, TB was funding the team even when DK was at the helm. DK was an excellent figurehead but why should he continue in that role once TB was bankrolling the club to the tune that he did. Many former owners of clubs have moved on and taken roles up as lifetime presidents and the like but that wasn't enough for DK. And then he soiled his copybook with the stupid antics with his book. Had he accepted the situation then I'm sure he would be getting far more recognition from the current board. As I see it, and I'm sure his fanbase will disagree, DK is the author of his own misfortune.

I knew DK throughout, yes it was, short and unsweet. In company law, equity shareholding percentages are everything. He accepted the reality, but was immediately not allowed to remain a director and was made aware at that time that he wouldn't be key to an August 2011 stadium ceremony.

Personalities and egos are very much part of these things, on all sides, it's human nature .... perhaps more so with males? Overnight DK no longer got invites to global football fora and gatherings e.g. in Marbella. It hurt.

Sadly this is how I read it. It's more Dick's antipathy to the situation he found himself in when he had to cede the decision making at the Albion to Tony rather than any hostility from Tony.

I’m afraid it seems to be the same old insurmountable problem. The club can kick and scream all they like on our behalf but we are at the behest of the transport providers. They will trot out the same old reasons/excuses - lack of rolling stock, no available staff, not enough buses blah! blah! - particularly for evening games. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a Plan B in any of this.

Pretty clear that DK wanted to retain control after saving the club (in conjunction with MP and the community). They did the hard miles, year after thankless year. Must have been deeply galling for DK to be powerless to prevent TB swooping with his cheque book off the back of a global financial credit crunch. Simple tap-in for the boy Bloom. No wonder DK is bitter

We all have a different take on it, my take is that TB and the Bloom family were very supportive of DK and, the harsh reality of business is, if you have a stake in a club that's worth next to nothing and someone pumps £300m+ of their own cash into it, your dilution is going to be catastrophic. If I were putting my money in I think I'd want what that money was worth in the open market. Let's face it, whilst at Withdean and no stadium, do you think anyone else would've said there you go, have £100m and build your stadium?
