Is it a card anyone can get? With no caveats? I just think there is a large demographic of our fanbase who won't ever have the need to get one and never will do. I don't like a corporate sponsored additional space, it does have the sort of vibe that I think people won't from these sort of areas. Essentially most people want essentially a PUB, they can visit pre and post game to avoid the train queues, dependant on the size of the exclusive area, it could just become no different to what is available currently for a large portion of the fanbase, as I have experience of these Amex only areas at other events.
Yes. I have the basic bog standard no fee one.

I'm going to wait and see how it all works in practice but I'm guessing though that within minutes of the opening, this thread will be full of doom-mongers bemoaning every little hitch that always happens when a new venue opens. Queues will be too long, food takes too long, staff don't know what they are doing, etc etc

I assume they will be having a few test events first to iron out any obvious issues first but whenever there is a first full scale opening there will be problems.

I think I will pop up on the afternoon of the Villa game to have a nosey around and a coffee

I suspect that is exactly what will happen. FWIW I will still prefer to drink in town before the game, but I'm looking forward to using it in post match capacity, maybe a cheeky pre-match pint once off the train if there is time

I would keep well clear the first couple of games to let things settle down, I still don’t the lower level looks as big as on the images but may look completely different when it is opened up.

What do Amex GOLD card holders get? Or Platinum even
A smug sense of satisfaction.

And cashback, or airmiles, or 'points'.

N.B. for the doubters about AMEX cardmembership*, I got one in October primarily for the 10% stadium discount, but have started using for most of our family spend.** I chose one with a £25/year fee, for higher cashback rates, but the initial £25 was covered by a referral bonus from my colleague and in the 4 months since I have already earned over £250 of cashback.

* ugh...

* subject to availbility

no issue , get a card that costs nothing and you dont have to use to avoid queues . If for some reason against that then just use the lower.

Looks pretty decent to me

Wonder what time need to get there to get admitted though. Post 12pm could be a struggle. Decent chance after if leave bang on the final whistle

I am 100% behind the club offering perks to Amex cardholders. Discounts, freebies, whatever you like.

I just really don't like that the chosen ones can go upstairs in our new fanzone and peer down on the plebs below unless the plebs get a credit card (after all it's super easy so why not eh?).

This isn't Heathrow Terminal 5.

its not a chosen one if it’s freely available. Chosen ones would mean selected surely
