I just filled out a form and an AMEX card is on its way.I certainly don't think hardly anyone is going to go to the effort of applying for a credit card for this.

Good point, well madeWill people now be leaving the game on 85 mins to get a good spot in the Terrace?
Happens at the actual ground though, there’s all manner of different options from Tunnel Clubs to concourse for different “experiences” and different price points. But it's not a nectar card or nandos card is it? You have to sign up for a credit card. So yes it's freely available if you want to get a credit card.
Listen I'm not hysterical about it. I just don't like the segregation of people based on this factor.
…..then I’ll rock up 10 minutes later having clapped the players off, armed with my AMEX card, breeze past the queue, through the velvet rope and be escorted upstairs to the club lounge. This is how it works right? Will people now be leaving the game on 85 mins to get a good spot in the Terrace?
Speedy train boarding queue next ( like EasyJet).Exactly this. Look at anything that has been improved at the stadium over the years and try and think of something that has improved for the better without an ulterior motive of squeezing more money out of everybody.
It's why were getting more places to spend money but the station is still a disaster waiting to happen. Until the club figure out a way of monetizing a train queue nothing will improve down there. The next development at Falmer Station will probably be a machine that can turn you upside down and shake you.
Amen to that, although I suspect that is exactly what we will have to doOne thing I hope they don't do, is make me download another BLOODY APP to order in there, that will be my potential headloss.
Be interesting to see how this pans out as I just watched the video and counted - there are definitely more seats upstairs - slightly more of the long tables along with wall seats. And whilst the mezzanine is obviously a smaller floor space, the video suggests that the kitchens eat most of the downstairs floorspace so available floorspace seems similar and seats are fewer downstairs.I've had a small it of to-and-fro. The club are putting together an expanded FAQ based on questions raised from me and, I'm sure, others, but a few bits...
- The downstairs is bigger
Screw that. This will be the only way to arrive:…..then I’ll rock up 10 minutes later having clapped the players off, armed with my AMEX card, breeze past the queue, through the velvet rope and be escorted upstairs to the club lounge. This is how it works right?
Only if they're hopping.
Its a business not a charity. But compared to most new grounds in the PL (look at St Marys, the Emirates - let alone Old Trafford ) - then this serioously downplays the investment Bloom has put in just to maintain and improve the stadium given its nearly 15 years old. The signage (all the blue and white both internal and external) , the PA sound system, the bigger / better TV screens on the concourse post pandemic (Probably Albion has more of these than any other PL club) , and the toilets/shelter in the fanzone - you won't have to pay to sit in there - are just a few things which just make the experience better. And i don't think offering better places to drink, sit and eat is a bad thing because i have to pay for it as well.Exactly this. Well yes. But I guess you're one of the people who are active on here and are engaged in the clubs press content and media reporting. The majority aren't. And for these people, "everyone is welcome to access the whole area" is a clearer message than "everyone can go to some of it. You need to apply for a credit card to go to all of it".I just filled out a form and an AMEX card is on its way.
But I don’t think that’s the crux of most of the complaints here, they aren’t complaining about the investment, it’s that some of the investment doesn’t seem to be for everyone.New steps to the coach park as well.
We must spend more on keeping the ground in good keep than any other Club. I can't believe anyone would criticise the Club on their investment to the Stadium.
Isn't being able to buy a ticket to go to a match in the first place technically "social segregation", if you want to apply it thoroughly? There's an eligibility check for an Amex card, so can we stop with the 'anyone can get one' comments please? This is social segregation, unlike other things the club has done that I'm aware of. For example I could borrow money from mates to buy a pricey match ticket, but being able to get an Amex card depends on things like income and credit score as far as I can tell.
Someone got them an Amazon firestick, didn't they?I've had a small it of to-and-fro. The club are putting together an expanded FAQ based on questions raised from me and, I'm sure, others, but a few bits...
- The downstairs is bigger
- It will not be the case that the Amex area is sparsely populated whilst the general area is rammed - this will be managed sensibly.
- (I was wrong) The club are hopeful of screening away games even if they are not UK-televised, but they need to ask for Premier League permission.
