Sky and BBC to share rights. Sky get all races live, the BBC only get half of them and highlights.

Rubbish. (non-Sky household)

Rubbish move (and I have Sky). The BBC coverage this season has been nothing short of excellent and now Sky have hold of it we can look forward to idiots standing in front of touch screens over analysing everything

Sky will destory this, just like they have done the golf. The Masters coverage from them thisyear was an embarrassment, the Saturday and Sunday on the BBC was much better. In general, the BBC are much better at presenting a sports programme. Also Where is this going to fit into sky's schedule, what with all the other live sports on? Is Rugby or Football goingto have to make way?

I have Sky, but I'm still not happy with this. The BBC coverage is generally excellent, and as others have said I can just see Sky ruining it with over analysis, touchscreens and the like.

I have Sky Sports HD but I'm still not happy with this.

Not only will Sky's coverage not be the same, I think they'll probably rip the excellent BBC team apart. Can imagine people like Martin Brundle being poached... Would Sky let MB interrupt Tanya from Sky Germany on his grid walks?

Bad news for me as I don't have Sky and still won't be getting it. BBC coverage this season has been excellent, no doubt Sky will dumb it down and then you've got all the breaks in the build up to cope with as well.

I'm gutted by this. I can honestly see this being the end of me watching F1. I'm 26 and have only missed 2 races since I was 9 (1994). Formula one is the kind of sport where, in my opinion, it is difficult to watch one-off races - you need to see most of them to understand what is going on with development, the championship, who drove who off the road in the last race, etc.

Not happy at all.

On top of that, ITV's advert breaks really did ruin TV enjoyment of the sport.

Not happy either. I have Sky but a lot of the time I go to the pub to watch the GP because I can watch it with like minded people (rather than the wife who hates it) and the pub doesn't have Sky. Arses.

They were stupid enough to do it during the race, can't see Sky doing that?

It isn't so much Sky, more the BBC. They tried to get out of the contract at the end of this season. Believe it cost the BBC around £300m for 3 years, with a £50m break out clause, and has massive production costs, meaning they were happy to pay £50m not to do next season. BBC need to cut 20% all over the place, so hardly suprising one of their biggest spends is being targetted

I can really see all top flight sport becoming pay to view, either a subscription as now, or a one off payment for a specific event (ie..Chelsea v Arsenal..German GP..Sussex Stakes..etc etc)

I'm absolutely livid.

I don't have Sky, I never had Sky and I never will have Sky.

No sport is safe when Sky want it and it seems everything has its price... but if people didn't subscribe they wouldn't have the money to buy up everything.

I love the F1 coverage from BBC, it was one of the bastions of premier sport that Sky didn't have a handle on.

Utter fucksticks!
