Love the idea of this, I'll be going to the cinema when its released.
Not easy to pull off, but that cast is great.
Oh no, they'll be doing a remake of Last of the Summer Wine before we know it.
The film is doomed.
As well as being handicapped due to the comparison to the original cast, it has the problem of trying to transfer what worked extremely well in a 30 minute episode into film.
If the new film, is compared to the original cast film, it may well be on a par, but against the original cast in a 30 minute show - no chance.
....and Love Thy Neighbour?Oh no, they'll be doing a remake of Last of the Summer Wine before we know it.
I hated the idea of this when I first heard about it. The original programmes, characters and cast were just so good.
But having seen the snippets of Michael Gambon as Godfrey and Bill Nighy as Sgt Wilson, among others, I have to admit it shows some promise.
They were persuaded by the Yorkshire film mob to film it all in Yorkshire. Suspect Scarborough, or similar, will substitute for the South Coast resort of Warmington on Sea, um!
Don't get the 1944 reference? Surely they must have done some basic research into the forming of the Home Guard?
