New club shop/ticket office

Just reading through the programme as I drown my sorrows and I just noticed it appears the club shop and ticket office are moving across the road.

Did anyone else know this was coming? Assuming it's a good thing (which it must be) why is the club not heralding this from the roof tops? Surely this should also be something to make a big deal of? Instead it is a very understated ad? Bit odd.

Although sounds like a good move.

to the other side of Queens Road? the less busy side, the side that people don't use walking to/from the station/churchill square! another Ken Brownism?

Could this be historic , due to when all the winos and druggies used to congregate in the graveyard so it was safer to walk on the other side of the road ?

Good grief.

The club getting grief for not screaming from the highest rooftops about crossing the bloody road?

If it was moving to the other side of town, I'd understand it, but if you go to the club shop and realise by virtue of HAVING YOUR EYES OPEN AND WORKING, that they're over the sodding road, what's the problem?

Personally, I'm glad they're moving, I've always hated the cramped feeling of the Club Shop and the utterly unhelpful space used for the Ticket Office.

With all due respect, yer honour, I am not totally convinced you understand the balance between non-existent PR and going overboard.

I don't see any respect being offered there, especially when you're talking to someone who has worked in marketing.

What level of PR do you think is required? They tell people they're crossing the road. They've done that. And...?

Do they want to make a song and dance about it? Seemingly not. Is this 'wonderful news' for the club? It's OK. Or are they doing something they should have done yonks ago - move out of their current premises? Looks like it. As a result, they're crossing the sodding road.

Like whoop-de-f***ing-shit.

This is so boring I feel like I'm going to have a seizure thinking about it. Sorry. Had you mentioned your background in marketing (obvious, now I think about it) I would have realised you are absolutely right and left it at that. But anyone who didn't buy the programme yesterday wouldn't know about it. I don't think it would hurt to have put something on the website or in the Arsegas in advance.

Yes, but as someone that has worked in marketing do you not think they could have taken the opportunity to advertise the move a bit more than just mentioning it in the programme (which most people DON'T buy) in order to see if they could stimulate some sales from people wanting to nose at the new shop? It's not often Knight misses a trick when it comes to spinning positives from a situation but he has here.
