Did they go and protest when it was at the Brighton Centre? Is there something particularly worse about it being at Churchill Square than there?

Unfortunately, some will just protest because it is inbuilt to protest at everything. I remember when I was a young man and the Tom and Jerry cartoon first came out and people could not understand the humour regarding a dog beating the crap out of a cat with a frying pan.
Most laughed, some felt the need to say it was cruelty to cats, so they came out to protest again.
Funny people.

Given that Tom and Jerry came out in 1940 and I will take the definition of young man to be 18, may I be the first to congratulate you on your big birthday next year and hope the Queen doesn't forget the telegram.

The latest 'angle' is it is being forced in kids against their will, plus they needed to do some shopping after.

It seems even anti-vaccers who have got Covid, have said something like 'I was wrong, get the vaccine', and then die from it, isn't enough to deter these morons.

Unfortunately, these people don't want to be proved wrong, because they are so desperate to have something to protest about, a cause that 'allows' them a reason to put masks on, get their banners out, chuck smoke bombs, etc.

I'm sure the very same people will have been on the Brexit protest marches, Extinction Rebellion and whatever other excuses they can find to cause anarchy.

I only referenced ‘left leaning’ because we can all agree that our right leaning conspiracy theorist friends are loons. I do think there is often a lack of self awareness though from people on the other side who use similarly dismissive language about the media.

I must confess I have lost sight of the original point. In the case of the left there is a tendency to dismiss the Mail and Star as echo-chamber propaganda for morons whereas.....hang on, that's what I think too. Oh well

Hmm, a completely different set of people.

What I can gather, the broadest (polite) term you can use to classify the anti vax lot is "libertarian"

The brexit / climate change protests, a completely different crowd, "progressive and pro science / evidence"

I'd be very surprised if the venn diagram of attendees crosses over one little bit.

Back to topic then and in the same vein here are a couple of stories illustrating what we are up against whether it be from social or conventional media or quite frankly, just morons ;

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....ti-vaxx-ivermectin-covid-us-b1911074.html?amp

The Iran story is from April 2020 but the one from the land of the free is today’s news.

Cheers.

I posted on a Covid thread about these weird US medics who have clubbed together to promote untested Covid cures, attack the American chief medic, and promte Trump, and who put me on their mailing list. All vey peculiar.....

I'm probably guilty of over generalising in my last post, but there is a section of people that would jump on a protest for the sake of it. Maybe not in this case, but generally.

Hmm.....it all depends whether you mean pro- or anti-Brexit protesters.

Anyone protesting now, whether it be about Brexit or Vaccination, is simply mad, on both sides. Not sure pro vaccine street protesters are a thing, though. Sometimes the sound is of one hand clapping.

In the past the pro Brexit street protesters were largely gammon, and anti-Brexit street protesters lagrely....hmmm, not sure; not hard left (the hard left were mildly pro Brexit) - anarchists - no they are against organizations. Were there anti Brexit street protesters?

Climate change street protesters seem to be primarily of the left, plus some anarchists.

Anti Vaxxer street protesters are largely right wing conspiracy theorists, more akin to pro Brexit street protesters.

No, I don't think it's the venue, I read it to be more about the juvenile status of the potential vaccine recipients and the fact that they are not old [or wise] enough to decide for themselves on such adult matters of "should I get a vaccine?"
So the protesters have taken it upon themselves to intervene for the welfare of these [poor misled] children.

As posted above - a protest for REMOVING freedom of choice really needs a counter protest to remind these people what we have been through to preserve our freedom of choice & speech [so long as it's legal obvs] ....

If the OB can't be arsed to protect those who wish to be vaccinated, doesn't it then come down to us?

Are the anti-vax lunatics planning a repeat performance? If so, I will happily turn out to counter-demonstrate against these undemocratic morons trying to stop those wanting to get the jab. Anybody else?

If you do, and I support you in doing it, keep it civil, and calm. They will be spoiling for a fight.

It's all Trump's fault. He alone is responsible for the atmosphere he has generated in which experts are ridiculed, the media demonised, and conspiracy theories are the new norm. It has spread out from the US like a virus.

Trump and religion. A lot of the anti-vaxxers are evangelical Christians who believe the lord will protect them without the need for a jab. They remind me of the snake handlers who deliberately handle venomous snakes with the same belief.

My guess. The rumble is what they're actually looking for.

It's definitely worth asking the question about where the OB were in all this though.

I went to demonstrate against this demonstration yesterday and was shocked by how mad these people are and also saw Kate Shemirani - the de facto leader of this wierd mob - speak .
I stood arguing with them surrounded by them as they filmed me - the tactics of a cult really. One or two of them were reasonable however I looked them all in the eye and said " you're mad , you're mad -- " etc etc as they looked at me literally with these vague far away eyes . I said to one of them " actually you look normal ", and to another " you're on weed .. " But they are brainwashed and they believe we are brainwashed . One of them told me i'd be dead in two years after having had the vaccine . If that's true then the world is f**ked as the only people left alive will be these , witless morons. As for Kate she speaks with the fervour of the Fuhrer and spouts similar toxic nonsense - ie nurses should be hanged for giving vaccines . This woman needs to be behind bars - even her son has disowned her . Frightening . For their next gathering I hope we can all go , 10,000 Albion fans , and make these fools realise they are on the other side of the argument .

The sad thing is, if these people had been causing the same distress at a football match, batons would have been out in seconds and they would have been frog marched away.

The saddest thing is that is some of these people did some real research (as they keep telling us sheeple to do) they'd find their theory conspiracy theories debunked in minutes.
