As discussed at length in other threads, unfortunately the internet makes it much easier for idiots to find other idiots and create an echo chamber. As others have posted, natural selection does slowly seem to be picking them off however…

the biggest problem with people like this is you just cannot reason with them , they utterly refuse to respond to a logical argument because they are so convinced that they are right and superior to you because you have been tricked or brainwashed . the w*****s ! :annoyed:

My patience would have been tested to the limit if in town today & confronted with these loons.

Yes, similarly, my patience would have been at breaking point if I’d been informed that my vaccine appointment this morning had been postponed due to this mindless mob.

It really is quite disconcerting to know that people like this are out there. I had heard and read about anti-vaxers but never meet one before last week. An innocent conversation with a customer took a very strange and quick turn when he suddenly became quite aggressive and assertive about people who had had the vaccine and became very challenging about it. I was somewhat dumbfounded as he whizzed through his conspiracy theories - on reflection I thought if any of my customers was going to be like this it would be him as he is generally a bit strange and marching to the beat of a different drum than the rest of us . IMO

A friend's son is currently suffering from covid in Eastbourne DGH in an induced coma. He's 38, father to 2 young kids and isn't expected to make it. I'm not a violent man but I don't think I'd be able to stop myself laying this cvnt out if I were to come across him.

A fair few are giving him both barrels on Twitter now :glare:

Unfortunately, some will just protest because it is inbuilt to protest at everything. I remember when I was a young man and the Tom and Jerry cartoon first came out and people could not understand the humour regarding a dog beating the crap out of a cat with a frying pan.
Most laughed, some felt the need to say it was cruelty to cats, so they came out to protest again.
Funny people.

Indeed, quite a widespread problem on social media (another prime example being the radicalised numpties still continuously chuntering away on the Brexit thread - avoid at all costs).

The pandemic and the response to it has caused numerous issues especially in the mental health arena, sadly these people are just another tragic example. Also worth pointing out there are genuine arguments to be made about the necessity of some covid prevention measures but not to the point where you seek to restrict or prevent others from exercising their right to get vaccinated.

Years back Jasper Carrot was famous for a comedy routine called " The Nutter on The Bus " .... it was clever, witty and it reflected the current societal view that there were some " odd ones " about and that they were to be avoided if possible but, that their views were quirky and unique. Sadly now they can find each other and reinforce their wacky views and escalate them as there are not enough people to say " NO " Calm down, and think this through. They are not left alone in the corner of the pub, there is a group of them and they are organising and feeding off each other.

I've edited out your second sentence about anti-Vaxer rights. Because the last thing I would want is to make you look an idiot

Why are the police not doing to more to protect the rights of those wanting to be vaccinated? If these people want to protest then fine, but they shouldn't be able to stop people attending an HNS facility (however temporary).

I'm not at all anti-Police but it seems strange how they seem to be able to bring in resources to manage other protests in the City and yet this is the second time the anti-vaccine mob have disrupted things in the last couple of months (Piers Corbyn in Hove being the other).
