Doesn't get any more British than this:-
Now all we need is some big boats to tow us out into the Channel.

I do think that is the most shockingly ignorant thing I've ever read on NSC. Please don't take offence, I'm not having a go at either of you, if you don't know then you don't know, but really at some stage in your education someone should have explained the make-up and the history of your country's flag. Sorry, I'm sounding a bit 'Daily Mail' here, but whether you think the Union flag is a thing of beauty or a symbol of oppression for a British person not to know its history is very sad.
Britain is just a land mass named by the Romans. A non entity!
Three great nations exist
England
Scotland
Wales
All already have their own flag.
Just scrap the Union flag of aristocracy and all is well.

Indeed.Depending which definition of the terms state or nation you adopt you can make a case but there is always a definition that defeats your argument (the beauty of the English language).
I'm going by the OP's comment 'up to now Wales has no representive part in the British flag as it is not a country in its own right'. It is no more or less a country than England or Scotland.Whether they are sovereign states independant in law is something else entirely.
I thought the diagonal red cross represented Wales.
But has Wales ever been a nation except under English rule? Before the Edward I conquest it was just a collection of principalities, except for a very brief 7 years in 1057-63 so without the English, Wales as a country would not exist.
I just want to know what the Scots are going to do for a currency if they vote for independence.
I say we kick them out of the pound and leave them to either invent their own (the Poond?) or join the Euro. If it still exists by then
Do you not agree?
Your post was blank on my screen. I think we should have some sort of flag. So i suppose i don't agree, no.
Haha, fair enough. The link to the flag.

Perhaps they can scrap coins altogether and just use whisky and shortbread in tartan tins as bartering currency.
Would that make a battered Mars Bar the equivalent of a £50 note?
