Just be there at the birth. It's the best thing you'll ever see in your life.

Thanks people, lots of good advice, nothing happened overnight, so still waiting.

Make a complete cock-up of the first nappy she asks you to change, so that it falls off in the gentlest breeze. Back of the net! She'll never ask you to do another one.
Excellent work Vlad, I'll bear that in mind.

Take all advice with a pinch of salt.

Actually I disagree with that - I was given a lot of good advice by well meaning people which I promptly forgot about as everyone said don't pay attention....the first few months I could have done with a few reminders to be honest....

We use those, got them online from

Having had my first little one seven weeks ago I would say the best advice we were given was trust your own instincts.

Best purchase made was a Premaxx Baby Bag - available from Toby Tiger opposite the Komedia.

Also available from Great Expectations on Lewes Road, Pulse in the open market (London Road) and all good baby stores (not Mothercare). We used the laundry service provided by Cotton Bottoms for the first few months, but now our darling daughter is a little older (18 months, yesterday) we just wash them ourselves.
