Not sure how people will be able to sit with others who don't buy an away season ticket but go to some games together.

Please don't patronise me. I go to 80% of away games and know most of the people that you are talking about. If you think more than a handful of them make literally every game a season you are deluded.

The club must have the data that makes an away season ticket feasible , they wouldn't be introducing it just for a dozen or so people until we make it to the Premier League.

Seriously guys, it's simple supply and demand isn't it. All the major clubs do this and we're starting to think AND ACT like a major club, is that so wrong?

If we had got promoted then maybe.

At the moment there are more important issues than this.

And how much will it actually bring in?

We have players on several thousand £ a week who are never, ever, going to get near the first team. Get rid of them, rather than try to fleece fans for every penny.

Barber seems to think we are a club already in the Premier League.

Several various points to make on Away Season Tickets.
The tickets will have to be paper because of the various ticketing/turnstile systems at different clubs.
The pricing would be a horrendous task - think of Peterborough (£18) and Leeds (£36).
Much more effort by the club would be expected in the location of the seats purchased. They appear to be sold as printed, i.e. first ticket is right at the end of a row down the front, as opposed to the the automated theatre seating sales that start in the middle/best seats and work outwards and backwards.
From what I recall, the few away season ticket schemes at other clubs gave the person the facility to opt out of two or three games of their choice each season.
How about for away games only, the away season ticket earning the same loyalty points as a home season ticket ?

What's wrong with the existing membership scheme that helps the club track who has bought what and when? It's called the fan number.

I only go to an away game if I can pay on the day and so membership not something I would join but if the club want to offer it and people want to join it then fair enough.

Many of BHAFC's customers are fans, and all fans are customer. Being one doesn't preclude you from being the other. And different employees in the club will need to focus on a different aspect of that.
Barber, for example, with his emphasis on the club's finances, needs to focus heavily on the fact that we are customers, as are other people who come through the door (eg, those that book events at the Amex or just come for a footballing experience, rather than having any allegiance to the club itself). Although I do agree that he needs to also be sensitive to the different expectations of those of us that consider ourselves fans.

I think there are elements of the new membership scheme that could become win-win features. The Away Season Ticket scheme is one such element. It will mean that the most ardent fans have the option of guaranteeing their away games and getting their tickets with the minimum of fuss (and apparently at no extra expense); and, if there's a good uptake, in return the club reduce the work involved in selling away tickets, and hence reduce their costs, thus improving their profits (or reducing their losses, perhaps).

But the club arent ripping people off and arent forcing you to join. Its your choice if you want to join it or not.

It's not about that. It's about not having to apply for a ticket every game. Just knowing that your ticket is guaranteed is worth a premium.
I have a home season ticket but I don't go to every game. Doesn't make it pointless.

Ah yes, revenue streams.

Normally this involves identifying a new product or service and selling it to a customer base.

In this case it involves taking an existing process, ripping it in two and then just reselling both parts to double your money. Sounds rather like when the football leagues sub-divided their packages and sold them to ESPN and Sky all in the name of consumer choice.

Now, if the club came up with a proper fresh revenue stream then that would be interesting - something that actually involved a new product. That's worth a thread!

My guess is you won't actually get an away ST, it will be like the auto cup scheme where tickets will automatically be bought for you and you will be sent a paper ticket like everyone else.

I think the whole thing is a good idea. It's not about money, just infrastructure to allow us to be a top club. Exiles can have some membership without the full ST. And some limited rights to get tickets. im exiled but have kept a ST which i share with others when i cant go. i could let that go with this scheme - although i wont. The away scheme could be great value in the prem.

I just can't see the issue. If you don't like it don't do it. Or support Crawley or citeh

The major clubs do it because there is a massive demand for their tickets. There isn't the same level of demand for Brighton tickets and if the team is struggling (in whatever division) then tickets will NOT be hard to come by, indeed the club will be desperately emailing all and sundry in an effort to get them to attend. THAT'S the reality of Supply and Demand for a club like ours.

So yes, it's wrong. If we've had a season in the Prem and it turns out that tickets for every game home and away are like rocking horse shit, then the following season they could have a scheme. At the moment they are preparing for a problem that we may never have - and it isn't foresight, or thinking and acting like a big club, it's just marketing-speak trying to sell a product. And of course we may never reach the prem.

In a word I think it's bollocks

As someone said earlier in thread why the club can't consult with it's fans (customers) on a regular basis about its commercial, logistics, catering, merch and a whole range of things is mystifying. It's not difficult at all. In any other business customers views are regularly sought before a product/service launch, during the development and after.

Seems to me the club is becoming increasingly arrogant
