Baby Reindeer...

Who needs Jason/Freddy/Alien etc horror films when there is this real life story....

Shit your pants scary, Fatal Attraction for the social media age arghhhhh !
Brilliant indeed.
The thought of licking the beef curtains of a character worse than the She Devil is horrendously scary let alone the thought of anal.
Very impressed. Based on a true story too, which I'll read into when I've finished watching.

Baby Reindeer … we’re a few episodes in, it’s a uniquely interesting, dark and mesmerising autobio.

The first 30 is daft and chaotic, I thought it crap, but that bears no resemblance to what follows.
My wife liked it, me not so much. Two individuals with serious mental health issues didn’t reflect the dark comedy comment in the series description. Found it depressing.

I liked it for its serious storyline, dealing with several real life criminal issues ruining lives at this time. I was relieved when the chaotic, noisy dark comedy crap at the beginning faded away.

Thieving Irish travellers, Scouse crims, cockney geezers and gangsters, Eastern European muscle, the ‘token’ black enforcer who has almost no dialogue, the mixed race chilled stoner who cultivates the weed, the machete wielding female Asian boss, it couldn’t be more loaded with lazy, outdated stereotypes if GR had tried :lolol:
Right up my street, I mean The Gentlemen…..those types of characters don’t live in my street …I’m unsure about number 34 though, they seem dodgy
I watched the first 2 episodes last night and really enjoyed it, the Scouse crims had me laughing out loud.

Crash Landing on You, a K-drama. Not for the faint-hearted, this romantic drama tells the tale of a wealthy South Korean woman accidentally crashing her paraglider into North Korea and her subsequent attempts to escape the Hermit Kingdom while falling in love with an NK soldier. Something for everyone on NSC with this one, including several mentions of BTS, although the episodes (16) are all 1 hour 20 minutes long for fark’s ache.

A true story …. American Nightmare.
I watched this yesterday and was bowled over by it. Anyone who likes the true crime genre should watch it. Starts off as a very bizarre story of a kidnapping. Ends up as a shocking exposé of American policing. And a very final scene that had me dabbing my eyes. Nicely put together. Highly recommended.

I've been pondering this series, and my reaction to it. Much like "I May Destroy You", I couldn't relate to it all - which isn't a criticism in the slightest, just that I was aware I was far from the target audience. That old cliché, about getting a bit older and seeing the world go on without you, feels appropriate.

I too found it depressing. And infuriating, and self-indulgent, and incomprehensible at times (in a "why did he do that? why didn't he do that?" way). I didn't like him or want to root for him - I had/have so much more sympathy for Martha, who in the light of her upcoming 'interview' with Piers Morgan and the inevitable social media pile-on that will occur, desperately needs (and needed) a lot of serious help and shielding from the public ffs.

If I was doing a drama about my life, I'd find the prettiest actors to play my girlfriends too, but it wouldn't look 'right', it'd just rub off more of the 'authenticity' I thought it should be reaching for. And ironically, I thought it could have done with some dialogue-polishing.... hats off to the chap who played the script guru, thought he was brilliant.

It is very good that stuff like this is being made, it's quite exciting to feel that this era is the beginning of a new kind of culture, I just hope I 'get' it more when it comes around!

Oh yes, about as intelligent too. Tattoo neck boy's excuse for not being ashamed was cracking too considering the first reporting on partygate was not until 4 months after the Euro final.
The irony of the blonde haired moron stating people who stormed in ' went too far' and 'should grow up a bit'... yes the same guy who was dancing about on top of a bus that was in service, encouraging others to do so, posting it on social media, and then boasting about it on the documentary. Oh and then dropped in that when his old man saw what he'd done, he told him that he did something similar on his local pub roof during euro 96. Like father like son, eh. f*** sake.

All round a depressing watch. Was surprised to hear the Italian guy (who was great!) saying at the end after all that that he still enjoys living in England and still believes English are open minded and tolerant on the whole!

Under Paris. Worst film since Jaws4. Currently No1 on Netflix. Awful. So bad I guarantee you'll watch it till the end to see how many swimmers get eaten. Mentioned on Radio 2 Thursday and I thought it was just me watching it. Go on, waste 2 hours of your life, you'll not regret it.
