Misunderstood what the figures meant. To me it is a meaningless stat which perhaps just tells you what we already know i.e. we had to spend as we were upgrading our squad . I assumed wrongly that it was in context of income and we had over spent on our income by those amounts.

The stat though hides so much of the truth i.e.a lot of what we have bought was not very good and that our championship players were pretty good.

Yes. I am inclined to marvel at our owner's strategy rather than criticise. Twenty years ago we were enjoying the first season in front of 5800 capacity crowds at a rented stadium with no roof, with Darren Freeman leading the line. And that was a massive step up from the previous season.

Since moving to the Amex the Albion's official player trading has been player purchases £98m and sales £28m. These figures only go up to 2017/18 though and are taken from the accounts. I'm a bit wary of the figures from Transfrmarkt etc as they are just guesses.
