That’s debatable.

I'm talking about converting from the championship to the prem, we had a settled side, they had loads of loans and had to make some of them permanent without even improving.
Therefore i think they are being Fulhamish but doing it a better way. Wait and see at the end of the window. i reckon we will be 75 mil+

'but my Postman who is a Brentford fan reckons he is joining us !' Ten out of ten for originality !!
I had to scroll up before finding out that wasn't a BG quote. Was CONVINCED it would be from him!

Although I suppose, "My son's postman read it in The Sun" might have been more of a giveaway.

This is fact. Villa lost a load of players as soon as they were promoted. Some they have converted from loans to signings (for big money), others they have had to replace (for big money).

Chucking figures of what they've spent around is meaningless. They have almost had to start from scratch. Aside from around 11 players, they had no squad. To start a Premier League season.

I'm not saying that they've made bad signings but they HAD to spend massively just to stand still.

I still think they'll really struggle this season. The idea of them doing a Wolves is ridiculous as Wolves had a PL team when they were promoted. Because they cheated. Totally different.

A Fulham "crash and burn" is more likely.

Sadly this is true.
And presumably you were just saying the Villa stuff about their squad and how poor our squad is , to wind people up then ?
If it wasn’t poor we wouldn’t have just survived? I feel for Hughton we created chances unfortunately we are still relying on a 36 year old Murray. Midfield never scores wingers hardly score, a few goals from the lads at the back is not enough. If Potter turns this lot around then really fair play to him.

We need 2 minimum still IMHO... striker and RB/RWB... that’s it... that’s been it since the start of the window... oh, and an ACM, but that might be covered from the U23’s...

That was t your point - we can all accept we need to strengthen and Potter has a tough job on his hands- it was we need to make as many signings as Villa . Ie replace half the squad.

But apologies if you were just exaggerating wildly to make what is a sensible point and I was whooshed.

Because we only just survived relegation? Lol ,Seriously without further signings we will struggle.Take off the rose-tinted glasses.

Everyone agrees there are gaps in the squad and we need to strengthen. Well nearly everyone and I’m one of them .

But OP was arguing we need to make as many signings as Villa, or: replace half the squad. In one window. Do you think that then ?

Created chances ? We had the second lowest number of shots in the division

Third worse xG ratio in the division

Etc. Creating chances was just about our biggest problem.

We really need a C/M better than anything we have at the moment, we have needed one for the last two seasons a couple of injuries to Stevens, Propper or Kayal and we r in trouble.
