Wouldn't think so - would only work like that the other way round (ie if he was on higher with us than they wanted to pay, we would cover the difference - might be the case for someone like Clarke if he goes to Derby on loan for example)

I didn't think loans worked like this, the player is still contracted to the parent club who pay their salary, the loaned-to club pays they parent club don't they?
Wasn't it the same thing with Wayne Bridge here, he was on £80k per week or something, and we were paying ManCity something like £10k.
