Ameobi and on bloody loan. FFS havent we learnt anything from last time being over saturated by loans?

Well we haven't got any loan players currently.

There is a difference between getting 2-3 season long loans, and having loads of short term loans.

I don't think signing just ONE loan player is being 'over saturated' myself.

Shall we put ourselves at a massive disadvantage by being the only team who doesn't loan in ANY players ? ???

I can't see why we wouldn't get him and would be surprised if there is genuine interest from Everton and West Brom.

I'd imagine that Newcastle have offered him a new deal so they can get a bit of compensation as mentioned above.

I haven't seen him that many times but when I have he's seemed tricky but lacking in end product. 3 goals in the 63 games seems to back this up. This is not the exciting transfer story I was hoping for.

He's a striker right?

So a player that Hughton knows from earlier days who is off our radar in any case.......how imaginative. And pre-season draws ever nearer.

One loan is hardly being saturated. The club have also stated they aren't averse to loan signings but would rather long term than short term. If Ameobi is the target and is out of contract next season and a successful loan spell here might but us ahead in the queue to sign him permanently.

Embarrasing journalism from Naylor. Ameobi is a left winger, and at no point has he played as a Striker for Newcastle. He's an ok player for the club, not liked by a lot of fans; but can come up with the occasional piece of skill, or even rarer, a goal. He'll be a bit part player at whatever top division club he went to, but here I'm sure he could hold down a first team spot.

TBH I am taking all possible signings with a pinch of salt it just doesnt seem to happen for us and its looking more and more desperate with season fast approaching.....think its gonna be another last minute rush with some cast offs no one else wants for when we kick off in 7 weeks!!!

The Transfer window hasn't even officially opened yet, let alone closed. And the start of the season is still a little while away. I would agree that I would like to see some activity, but I think use of the word "desperate" at this stage is a bit Over the Top.

I would be devastated if we signed him but thankfully there is at least one other team mildly interested so we won't get him. Is Naylor completely inept? He plays as a winger and never a striker. We won't need him not to mention he's very poor, did nothing at middlesborough and couldn't get a game in the worst Newcastle team for decades.

Is this some sort of sick Joke after missing out on the Zamora story? He is not a striker & if he leaves the toon, he is Premier League bound - why take such a huge backwards step, he is quite good? Transfer window so far - Bozza 1 - Naylor 0.

Nail on Head. Naylor clearly has no inside track at the club, perhaps he ruffled a few feathers, but Bozza has far better contacts it would appear.

Sorry I seem to have missed the part where the admin called a correct transfer and Naylor hasn't. We haven't even signed anyone yet, how can Naylor be 'behind'?

I very much doubt he has the wrong one when he is harping on about a loan deal.

Please tell from whom are we going to loan him as he has been offered a new deal by Newcastle is also bing chased by West Brom, Everton, Wolves and Burnley appaerently?

Have they all said if they sign him we can have him on loan? We either sign him or forget him hence my suggestion AN has heard a little snippet but got the wrong brother.

Am i missing something or isn't he an out and out winger? Has he ever played as a striker in his career?

That wouldn't stop us using him out of position.
