Difficult to argue with any of that ... well presented arguments.

Let's hope Hughton and the club think the same, and more importantly do it "properly"

Very good article, and I agree with pretty much all of that.

1 - Keeper - Slightly disagree in that Ankers would be a good 3rd pick, but please give Walton more of a role
2 - Sign a left back not on loan. Could we even get Ward back? ??? [ disagree about Calderon, as he gives good value for money and can cover a lot of positions ].
3 - Sign a central defender
4 - Sign an attacking midfielder
5 - Sign a winger
6 - Sign 2 strikers
7 - DO TRANSFER BUSINESS EARLY
8 - Less loans
9 - More leaders on the pitch
10 - Aim for top 2, not top 6

Let's get it done.

Thanks for posting the photos! Agree with all of those and, in particular, no. 9. Until Kayal arrived we only had Greer as a Leader on the pitch and he was missing for a lot of Hyypia's time in charge. Hyypia was deeply flawed but the on-pitch leadership was non-existent for the majority of the season and that was down to poor recruitment.

All 10 are bang on the money. It will cost, but stop talking about top 6 unless you are prepared to fund it... let's hope Tony and the board have learnt their respective lessons. Otherwise, we are ****ed...

Hughton should pin that up on his office wall. Surprisingly good from our local hack.

So we need to sign better players on permanent contracts - thanks for that, Andy

It is a good article and happy he wrote it. The really worrying thing is - is that its bloody obvious.

No competition for keeper, ageing defence, lack of creative players, too many loanees, shite strikers and shit transfer business. Its all be said on here for months.

I hope TB PB and CH sit down after the season have decent targets and go and get them. Another summer like last and we wont be so lucky....

Baldock is the one that continues to baffle. As he stated he has always played in a 2 pronged strike force so what do we do.....Play him either on his own or out wide on the left.

Naylor nails it. Pretty much agree with all of that. I hope the club are thinking along the same lines.

Well none of that is rocket science is it. We all know it, but it's whether the club will do it that matters. Ultimately if Tony wants to spend the right money to get this done, it will be done, but if he doesn't it won't. It's that simple.
