What I was also meant to put, before being so easily distracted, was that from where I was, nothing was said towards Nathan to get that sort of reaction. OK, he didnt get massively cheered as a past player does every so often, but he didnt get booed by us either. I was genuinely surprised when he celebrated the way he did.

Someone earlier said that it wasnt meant to be deliberate, but it quite clearly was directed right at us. He stood there for quite a while - if it wasnt deliberate he would have celebrated with the other players, but he didnt, he did it straight at us.

I just really cant understand it - he didnt leave us on bad terms - with the club or the fans as far as i'm aware. Very curious

I can only assume it was reaction to ridiculous abuse - suggestions that he wasn't even as good as Mayo:jester:

Hmmm that's disappointing, I always liked him when he played for us. Met him once and he seemed like a thoroughly decent guy then, but perhaps not if this is anything to go by.

a passionate celebrating a win against a side he used to play for and was deemed not good enough for by some - especially when he had songs of "brighton reject" whenever he cocked up - although they were tongue in cheek - fans shouting "you're not as good as mayo", and a mouthy right back calling him a "cheating welsh ****" or words to that effect

no matter what he achieved for us, cant blame him for letting his relieve out at the final whistle like that - just shows he has passion and loves playing football, something we could do with in our side right now

To be fair he is a cheating Welsh ****, I wasn't there but I've seen plenty of ridiculous Nathan Jones dives in the past to know this to be true.

I never really liked him, although it was mainly because he was not very good. I wonder if he is still waiting for that Wales call up? :D

There is a difference between celebrating and what he has done every time he's played against us which is going mental and giving it the biggun, he professes an affection for the club but do you think the rest of that team would behave in a similar way in his place? Oatway, Hart, Mayo, Cullip, etc etc. I don't. He's a twat.

i bet you didnt complain about the jones dives when he played for us - i certainly didnt!

you are right though - i dont think the likes of oatway, hart, mayo or cullip would have celebrated though. simply because none of them were dropped by the manager for not being good enough, only to go on to play for a team that is now better than us - they would also have not subjected to a large amount of abuse by the right back, and to a lesser extent the rest of the team, who wont go onto achieve half of what jones did at this club

it all comes down to something called respect - our players offered him none today, and at the end of the match he took it out on the fans by clinching his fists and screaming in true jones fashion - a completely human reaction

It was very OTT - literally standing in the goal right in front of us, roaring like a demented banshee. You'd think he'd just found out he was english after all, or something.

But I also remember seeing him turning out on one of our Falmer marches along the seafront, so he's not ALL bad. Just yer average unintelligent footballer really.
