If he gets the job then I think the fans will warm to his style quite quickly. A passionate manager who believes that building a team that works for each other is the key to success. Personally though, I don't think he's high-profile enough for Villa fans expectations right now. Give them a few years knocking around the middle of the table as Leeds have done and then they'll see sense.

But the Cardiff idiot does give managers slightly longer - Salde was there for two seasons as was Mackay. Fans' expectations are much lower too. Villa appear to clueless about life in the Championship

Best thing for Jones would be a full season in charge of Luton. Villa and Cardiff may be tempting, but moving to them and not doing well could mean that chances later on are few.

Agreed but managers stars can wane quickly. Could be a great stepping stone, either club, or could be a disaster. If he's offered either, be very hard to turn down. Luton will never achieve the profile of either of them.

Nathan Jones would be better off sticking with Luton for now. He has a good shot at getting them promoted from League Two this season which should see his stock rise further.

It's his first managerial job and getting Luton to promotion would be a fantastic effort

Too many young managers have success at their first club and then take another post and find that things don't run as smoothly. If he goes to either Cardiff or Villa he has to work with a squad of deadwood that a more experienced manager couldn't get to gel for at least 3 months before he can change personnel.

I'd stay with Luton and finish the season, possibly gaining promotion before being tempted away

One of my good friends is a Luton fan, they're really grown to like him. They love his football, he plays very fluid Spanish like football.

People say in 2-3 years he can come home, by then Luton will more than likely be a Championship club. They've got money and are currently having a 20k seater stadium built.

I think there are a number of reasons he shouldn't move

Firstly he has only just really started. If he jumps ship then it may put off a lot of the 'better' chairman that like loyalty from their managers. That could leave him only looking at places like Leeds in the future.

Secondly, Villa is a cursed club at the moment, he likes to build teams that work for eachother but there are still 3 months until the transfer window. Anyone that could turn that current squad around would have to be a saint. Anyone thinking they will sort it in the transfer window may not make it that far.

Thirdly, he is such a young manager that a failure at that level could kill his career before it started

However, if he just wants a quick pay day then it would be perfect. I hate to think how much Di Matteo got paid off with

Luton is now a well run club, that at league two level is a bit of a sleeping giant. A new stadium on the way, more than possible they will go up this season and then give the Championship a good crack in a season or two. A few years managing Luton will do him far more good than a failed attempt at either Villa or Cardiff where the expectation of both clubs is hugely greater than the ability of the owners to make it happen.

No more a sleeping giant than quite a few other League 2 teams, just have a look at the teams down there now. i think it will be a tall order to get Luton up tbh although I feel he is quite capable of it.
