I’ve not been paying much attention - but is Gilmour in Japan but injured ? Or sidelined because of this potential deal

I think someone (a journalist but I can’t remember which one) said he wasn’t playing because he was at the Euros so they were managing his workload. I’m not sure why he went to Japan though, when the others from the Euro’s stayed in Brighton.

Didn’t he only play 2 games ? 😂

He left the Euros earlier than most…… sadly

Looking a done deal. I’m still not sure it’s wise if both he and Gross leave in the same window.

I wonder how many top teams have lost their centre midfield pairings, two summers on the bounce?
the caveat to that being that Gilmour and Gross have not actually left yet, but are both looking increasingly likely….
I think to sell Gross and Gilmour for only a combined £20m would be far worse than only getting £35m for MacAllister.

This one really has me baffled if I’m honest. I understand Gross wanting away and at a relatively low value of £10m, but Billy, why? I get he may not fit the FH way but he is a tried and tested, established Premier League midfielder. As such he warrants a far greater fee than that being quoted in press outlets.
I can’t believe a player of his quality can be had for less than £20m

I'm on the same page, but the fact no EPL team has come sniffing after the Napoli bid does make me think maybe he isn't worth as much as we thought...

I can’t believe there isn’t a lot more clubs interested at the rumoured prices.

I can understand that if Hürzeler has told Weir that he needs midfielders a foot taller than WBG with the ability to score, he has little value to us now

We don’t know that there hasn’t been, in fact Newcastle were rumoured to be coming in for him. Not all teams conduct their business on Twitter.

It wasn't only £35m for Mac Allister though.

It was an initial £35m with £20m in achievable add-ons and likely a sell on clause too.
Even £55m would have been a bargain for MacAllister.

But anyway it’s hard to rationalise why the club would do it again this summer, only worse.
