We’ll need 4 in the squad at least if that’s the case. Interesting to see what he does with Hinsh.
Tailor-made for either the RWB or RDM roles?

100% thisI like the player. He lacks physicality sure and the comments about his actual attacking output are fair.
His role is to get the ball and move it quickly and accurately and keep us ticking over in midfield. I thought he did a great job for his manager last season. He would have massively benefitted from a Caicedo or Bissouma alongside him to win the duels, but that is hardly his fault.
You can tell his class, just by the way he plays with his head up. Always has a great awareness of what is around him.
Not that i'm imploring the club to keep him. They know what we need best. I'm imploring Brighton fans that if he goes, he goes with our best wishes and respect and that he's warmly welcomed back should our paths ever cross again.
Exactly. More of a nerd pleaser than a crowd pleaser.I thought it was telling that Scotland looked a lot better with him than without him. He does a lot of the simple things very well. Managers appreciate that type of player more than fans.
We're talking differing degrees of shit, but yesI thought it was telling that Scotland looked a lot better with him than without him.
Most Scotland fans do appreciate him and players talk about how having him in the team makes them play better and makes their lives easier. His input is more than just individual performance/stats, takes on a lot of the hard work that allows others to shine in their roles.I thought it was telling that Scotland looked a lot better with him than without him. No Enciso. No Party. We seem to be heading for something like this:
————————Verbruggen——————
———Van Hecke——Wieffer——Dunk———
Lamptey——Baleba——Buonanotte-—Estupinan
—March———-Pedro———-Mitoma————
On the assumption, Gilmour, Groß, Dahoud and Moder leave. We’re going to need some more experience in midfield I believe.
And, if you watched the friendly between Scotland and the Netherlands in March, you would see this. He was the best player on the pitch (not just Scotland’s best player and was described as 'outstanding' by Steve Clarke) and Scotland completely fell apart as soon as he went off. Most Scotland fans do appreciate him and players talk about how having him in the team makes them play better and makes their lives easier. What is all this nonsense about “alibi passing” and “CDM single pivot”. I think a lot of you (probably those who don’t go to games) are being horrible about a very nice young man who’s served us well.
His performance when we were home to Marseille was one of the best I’ve seen.I'm convinced that those who don't rate Billy have their eyes closed for much of the game. I would say he was one of our better players last season and we will be a worse team if he leaves.
Gross and Gilmour both leaving in the same window would IMO, be a mistake.
Agreed. He doesn’t score goals or assist but that’s not his focus. Within last years tactics his priority was retaining possession and feeding the ball to our wingers, being the linking pass between defence & attack. One thing he did better than anyone else we had was being the centre mid who actively made himself available (shouting for the ball & pointing where he wants it) to receive the ball from our centre backs, a quick turn, and move it on to our wingers. He’s very proactive in that sense. Without him that part of our play was much slower and ponderous. It’s a role that goes unnoticed sometimes, but was crucial to our tactics in regards to drawing in the opposition & then making quick passes through them. If there’s an upgrade out there then fine, but to let him go because he doesn’t do enough would be foolish in my opinion.I'm convinced that those who don't rate Billy have their eyes closed for much of the game. I agree. It'd be a lot of talent and experience disappearing from the middle of the park
Again!
To make very similar "mistakes" 2 seasons running, would seem to be rather careless.Gross and Gilmour both leaving in the same window would IMO, be a mistake.
