I'm reliably informed that only 2 names have been put forward for the naming of the new road that goes from Stanmer Park entrance to the Uni.
These being Dukes Lane/Way/Street, and Stony Lane/Way/Street.
Therefore, the deadline has been extended to 18th June.
If you can do better, email; martina.rutherford@brighton-hove.gov.uk with your suggestion.
Am I alone in not being really bothered?
If the council want to call it Stony Lane, that sounds OK to me. I can't help feeling it starts to sound a bit corny when every road is named after someone connected to the past.
It's like when people suggested calling Falmer the New Goldstone. Let's move forward, not back.
'Fans United Way' has a pleasing ring(road) to it, no? Would properly give a nod to the superb support we've had from the wider football community.
Along with the 'Tom Hark, Car Park'. Obviously.
It's just for improved access to the Park and University. Financed by Seeda (RIP) It's really not much to do with the Stadium, mainly to stop cars Queuing on the slip road.
So my suggestion was University Parkway. Involves all possible uses.
