If the council want to call it Stony Lane, that sounds OK to me. I can't help feeling it starts to sound a bit corny when every road is named after someone connected to the past.
It's like when people suggested calling Falmer the New Goldstone. Let's move forward, not back.
It's only the road from Stanmer Park to the Sussex University car parks, not even part of the stadium or the approach to the stadium (though an obligation nonetheless).
If anything is going to be named after Bloom, it would be something a bit more high-profile, I suspect.
