Beckam was not the greatest player the world has ever seen.He was a very very good player though,he wasn't quick & he wasn't that skilful but he had that unusual quality of passing the ball to his own team mates,he was a fantastic crosser of the ball & always gave 100%.
What I admire most about him was that he knew what an honour it was to play for England & towards the end of his career he would fly half way around the world just to sit on the bench for a friendly.(whether he justified his place in the squad is neither here nor there)
If Chris waddle could name 500 players that have played in England over the last 40 years I would be surprised so to say that beckam would not make the top 1000 is crazy.
