any system of this sort will impose costs on the club to
a) implement a new system
b) promote it
c) train staff in its use
d) maintain it

when you consider that it is effecitvely implemented for the benefit of a few hundred loyal fans who missed out on a once in a few years type match is it really worth it?

dont get me wrong, id be gutted if i hadnt bagged a ticket for west ham but could i have expected the club to start implementing a membership card system - no.

basically, i think the choice of ticket stub was a poor one and that was really the only flaw in the ticketing for this match.

The club has just paid goodness knows how many people to spend two weeks sorting through piles of different applications. A call centre could have processed the whole lot in a couple of hours - and been a lot cheaper.

When we get Falmer they will fit matchticket card operated turnstiles, that automatically tot up ticket points. Any away tickets bought through the club will be added as well.

No they were'nt moaning about PV tickets just a shame the 2500 set a side for AMS WHU tickets did'nt go, would have been nice to see them all there.

And I bet most of the 250 at PV were season ticket holders.

Just for the record i'm a STH, but i don't see why they think they have the right to moan about tickets. If people aren't happy that the club is trying to be fair to ALL Albion fans, then go be a STH somewhere else. The only priority is the future of the CLUB.

2 people normally operate the ticket office anyway, so thats not really any extra cost.

This IS the 21st Century and the Internet was invented quite a while ago now - there should be no need to leave one's sofa.

Remember the Cardiff fiasco? Queue for 8 hours ....

Agree and would not be 2 hard to set up

Do you really trust the club to be able to administer a points system? They seem to approach meltdown whenever we get a big game as it is, I dread to think what would happen if additional admin overheads were added.

kestrel i disagree with your thoughts concerning west ham away.although i fully admire your opinion regarding tickets for west ham at the top of the page. if i am being honest i think sth should get first choice on these tickets. they keep the club afloat. i dont live in sussex and have recently joined the away supporters club, been to millwall twice, stafford and port vale games this season and have got a ticket for west ham.
i dont think if we sell out the 5000 i deserve to be in the away end but when the club announces its policy on tickets what should i do, not apply?

personally if the club had given all sth priority i would'nt of felt harshly treated

If people refuse to go to withdean well thats pathetic they obviously dont support the club like others, I hate withdean getting wet sitting miles from the pitch with no atmosphere but I go! If everyone just could'nt be bothered because they dont like withdean we would'nt have a club to support.

I certainly dont want a medal or think im some sort of uber fan but I would expect the club to value supportters like me and others better than they do.

:clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Well said. How can refusing to go to Withdean because you don't like the ground/lack of atmosphere/ no roof/ no beer on sale etc be supporting the team? I prefer away matches and dislike Withdean for the same reasons as others, but I go to watch the team I support, not for the environment in which I do so . You've hit the nail on the head, Barnham Seagull.
