What sells it to me is that it makes the awarding of points so complicated that nobody would frankly be bothered to complain.
Well certainly your suggestion is complicatedclapham_gull said:What sells it to me is that it makes the awarding of points so complicated that nobody would frankly be bothered to complain.

This is the best solution with the number of points reset to zero every season. If there is a big game and a large number of applicants means an oversubscription you could take into account the final points total from the previous season as well, this would at least stop the fair weather fans getting a look in. A considerable number of Albion fans live in exile and are unable to get to home games but manage to follow the team when they are up north , so by giving extra points for away games according to distance is unworkable as a round trip from Brighton of over 400 miles can only be 40 miles for northern Seagulls.Kent Seagull said:Why not make it simple, one point for every match ticket bought from the club, home, away, season tix or one game at a time, what's the difference? If you buy more tickets and support both at home and away AND get your application in on time, then the most deserving fans would get tickets. Wouldn't they?
But with a points system , if you are strapped for cash and only go to the odd game home or away each season you will get priority over those fans who only turn up for the mega games. With a system where applications are dealt with on a strictly received (allegedly) date basis, mistakes are bound to happen , whereas with points the club can set a closing date for applications and then sort out applications by priority.Happy Seagull said:A points system is a bad idea IMO. If you couldn't afford to goto lots of games, then it could restrict the games you could goto.
Just get your application in soon enough and you don't miss out. It's been said so many times before

In the pub last night talking to freinds 2 of them new people who had'nt been to watch the albion since cardiff and have tickets for whu away. How can that be right? They were hardly inticed to watch albion in the championship after cardiff!
