My humble assesment of Mark McGhee

I can see what you're getting at Uncle Buck but I think you are making a bit of a meal of this.

I had a bit of banter with Lammy because he looked up for it after accusing Kneon Light of being on drugs. Look back at that post and see if you think Kneon Light's posting really deserved that - it was a signal to me that Lammy wouldn't mind a little bit of fun. If I got that wrong, ah well, so what.

In the end Lammy made some interesting points about last night's game. That allowed me to organise my thoughts and say what I thought happened last night, and then to cap it all Lammy made a funny joke about my use of Sage.

It's not so terrible, is it, Uncle Buck? Cheer up, 'tis a bit of fun.

I'd agree a bit with Albion Dan. Your use of the English language is clearly trying to discombobulate the average NSC user. Something I'd never do.

:D

Interesting thoughts about the culture of moaning, undoubtedly true.

When it is a bit of fun, then fine, but the way you go at people that do not agree with you is not fun. In all fairness this board and to extent sections of the Albion support generally have taken to bickering amongst themselves.

Maybe we are all a bit battle weary and just want to be normal fans again.

I have no qualms about calling you a dickhead LI

You've come from no-where the last few months and bombarded this site with your diatribe, and woe betide anyone who disagrees with you

Anyone who argues so vociferously in favour of Oatway being the saviour of BHA this season is a plum in my opinion and I'm quite happy to keep reminding you of this fact on NSC

Not long now til he's fit and selected by McGhee - then a superbly-crafted patronising post will be heading your way to rub your nose in it. If I can remember who you are, which is unlikely.

Am I allowed a civilised, non-patronising disagreement with you on this?

People's strong views and clashing opinions are one of the main reasons why I read NSC. It's why it's far and away the best Albion messageboard because all the others generally contain people who agree too much with other - that is crushingly boring.

If people have the stomach for a bit of banter along the way as they argue the toss, I think that's even better.

I do not disagree with the sentiment of what you are saying and in a way supporting the Albion is a chore at the moment as we have this happy clappy core that will not accept any criticism or questioning of the club. In reality if people like Paul Samarah and co had not done some digging in 1995 there would be no club to support.

My only point is you often do not argue peoples point's, just dismiss them in an arrogant manner.

For people who believe that McGhee is the manager for the job and that we could turn this season around that is a very patronising description of them.

To be honest yorkie you would believe that Bin Laden was the man for the job if Dick Knight appointed him.

Thank you that is the reaction I wanted.

But when a few of us questioned the new kit at the friendly at Cambridge etc, we got described as scum and not proper fans. The fact is this club has various different sets of supporters, but too often certain groups think they are the main thing and dismiss others.

I found in the summer following England a far better expierence than the Albion at present as we were all in it together and the atmosphere was better. A classic example of the atmosphere is the people that try and start new chants, they are generally too long winded and people have no idea what they are going on about, then those that started them start having a go at others for not getting behind the team.

To me at present there seem to be certain groups of fans who think they are better than the rest.

I agree with that but it works both ways.

What does moaning achieve? I have never called any other fan scum nor do I know any 'positive' thinking fan call anybody that either.

Most of them travel to away matches on the official supporters bus and then , so I am told, more often than not get free tickets on arrival.

I do not think moaning achieves anything and one of the things I loved about following this club in the mid 90's was the we are all in it together attitude.

However there are people on here who like to see themselves as the main fans and I have seen criticism of people that do not wear colours etc.

I honestly think a lot of it is down to the Falmer campaign and people are getting narky and maybe we just want to support our team again.

WOW this thread is turning into a cracker!

I have no problem with people having opposing views to myself (unless you are a NIMBY) as long as you offer your opinions rather than just shout down mine. To be fair London Irish did that, eventually. I wish I wasn't at work and that I could have carried on what was a very interesting and well structure debate, eventually. Unfortunately I had to leave it alone for a few hours whilst I actually did some work. I come back and we're back to the same old same old.

Yorkie will never say anything bad against the club. Ever.
Ernest will never say anything good about the club. Ever.

Somewhere in between there is the rest of us. At the end of the day coments like "Dick Knight Out!" or "Stop Moaning" are boring in the extreame and offer nothing to this board IMHO. I also have no problem with personal insults being tossed about as long as it is tongue in cheek and not mallicious. I believe it was Uncle Buck that called me a sage to start with?

At the end of the day we all share the same passion. The Albion. We all want the best for OUR team. Some of us have differing view on how this should be achieved and we come on here to see if anyone else shares those views or if you are talking crap.

That is what make being a fan fun and interesting. Well that's what I think anyway.

I love you guys

Because I was upset and posted as such. I have been laughed at in the past for revealing my feelings.

Well I wasn't laughing at you. You brought it all into perspective very nicely.

Dare I say it;

it's only a game....
