I personally find the happy clappy blind faithers worse than the moaners.

Hear hear!

We could have one point at Xmas and some poor sods on here would still be blindly claiming we are better than we were 2 years ago and claiming all things are rosy!

LI, as you have the cheek to refer to Lammy as "Sage" and belittle his posts in your normal condescending way, I'm going to forever refer to you in the future as PD....the Paddy Dickhead :tosser:

Feel free Ninja! If you get something out of that schoolkid name-calling, it would be harsh to deny you the pleasure.

Are you not even aware that that is what you are doing to me?

"By Jove?" do you really talk like that are are you just a bell end trying to wind someone up for having an opinion different to yours?

Not sure what you're geeting at here. If Coppell had been with us from the start of the season rather than Hinsh we would have stayed up. That is all I'm hoping for. I'm not looking to set the world alight here. Just maybe get it luke warm?

The point is that both Taylor and Coppell walked away from us because they realised the Albion's manager job at the moment is a hiding to nothing. No resources, yet people still expect constant success. McGhee has stated he is happy to accept the terrible financial restrictions imposed on him...........as long as people have realistic assessments about what he can do.

There is a clear quid pro quo being offered by McGhee there. If fans massively turn on him during the course of this season (and I obviously mean more than just the usual ragbag of NSC whingers) for stuff that is out of his control, then I would expect him to be considering his options.

Well, that's too bad, Albion Dan, you can't please all the people all the time. I'm having a bit of fun here making a few points defending McGhee, who I admire a lot, against wrong-headed criticism. I do draw the line at cheap, childish name-calling like Dickheads and Wanker, mainly because the use of these terms usually mark the person out as someone with nothing interesting to say. But feel free if you think they're appropriate, you should know by now it doesn't bother me in the slightest.

I ask only two questions of you:

(1) Who is actually likely to be able to keep a team such as BHA with your financial constraints in a division where money is being ploughed in more and more, year on year? There are now 8 clubs (I think) who live off the parachute payments from the Premiership since they were introduced. West Ham, Leicester, Ipswich, Wolves, Derby, Sunderland, Coventry, and Leeds. Coupled with that, you've got the cash rich clubs like Wigan, Cardiff, and Reading (to an extent), and then there's clubs who live off their superb academy players such as Crewe and Nottingham Forest, and to a lesser extent Sheffield United. Millwall have their FA Cup money as well.

(2) How many managers out there have a CV with a history of success as good as McGhee at this (and Div 2) level, that you could replace him with?

I'd stick with your stability - even if you go down McGhee should be there to keep you going. He's given up screwing clubs over nowadays...

Commonsense from the Reading fan.

I have said it previously I will be glad to get through October without a change of manager, something we haven't achieved for the last 3 years.

Give him a chance.

I'm going to keep calling you Sage, as long as it's written under your name and your opinions of McGhee fall short of that high standard. I think it's a bit different to Arsehole, Wanker, Dickhead. Those are not very classy.

Oh dear :nono:

From what I can see you are the one being totally childish by belittling people who have an opinion different to yours by using condesending and smug language. Others are entitled to their opinions without someone like you name calling and insulting becasue you cant handle the fact they dont see it the way you do.

I only pointed out how you are coming across by doing this.

The best players in the side are all Pre-McGhee signings - Roberts, Cullip, Carpenter, Knight.

From which planet are you?

Roberts injured not yet played this season.
Carpenter injured not yet played this season.
Knight suspended for 3 games so far this season.
Cullip arguably the worst player so far this season and responsible for over 50% of our goals.

As stated on other threads we have too many players who are mediocre for this division and are best described as squad players and not enough who can legitimately claim a place on their actual ability.

I have faith in McGhee getting it right. As LI states the back four have not been protected at all so far but hopefully this will improve when Chippy is back and Roberts returns. Perhaps then Cullip will start performing again.

Remember Barry Lloyds side in , I think it was 89 , we lost our first 8 games but stayed up the same will happen this season.

Quite interesting reading this, but Albion Dan is correct, if people differ from you, your plan is then to patronise them, not really helping and really takes you to the same level as the childish name callers.

The strange thing is that McGhee made his name at Reading by producing a fantastic team of players who played bright, attractive carpet football; all on a shoestring. Things actually went wring for him when he was given money to spend and expectations to live up to.

He has the capability, no problem; it's whether he has the right tools at his disposal.

:lolol: Trying to put forward arguments about the mechanics of how Albion play is the same as calling someone a Arsehole/Dickhead/Wanker? Errr...........nah. Nice try though, Uncle Buck.......oops shit, was that last bit "patronising"

No I agree it is not, but the manner in which you deliver your points is often arrogant and patronising. You take the attitude that you are correct and the rest of us do not know what we are on about and you try to belittle those that dare disagree with you.

I have no qualms about calling you a dickhead LI

You've come from no-where the last few months and bombarded this site with your diatribe, and woe betide anyone who disagrees with you

Anyone who argues so vociferously in favour of Oatway being the saviour of BHA this season is a plum in my opinion and I'm quite happy to keep reminding you of this fact on NSC

As soon as I see one of your post's its :thud:

I'd agree a bit with Albion Dan. Your use of the English language is clearly trying to discombobulate the average NSC user. Something I'd never do.

All I'd say is this. My old man went to the football with his mates on the East terrace for 20 years before we left for Gillingham. They weren't interested in getting behind the team, they weren't that bothered about Promotion, they were only bothered about moaning. They moaned about Mullery, Melia, Lawrenson, Horton and even Peter Ward. Even when we beat Ipswich to get into the play off in 92 the first comment was 'We're bound to get beat in the next round' My point is some people love moaning about the Albion. It's a hobby to them and to expect them to change their attitudes is akin to the proverbial leopard changing its spots.

Mcghee will get stick as it's in people's nature to moan when things don't go well - regardless of reasoned expectation. If he gets fed up with it, he should realise there isn't the perfect football club out there where everyone is happy, all of the time. If he leaves without another job to go to, well he doesn't much like a challenge.
