Saw him at the Ash Tree pub in Gillingham once. Would have been in the Seventies sometime. He never set fire to his helmet, as it were, tho for Fire he did have a chain with a wire cage on the end full of flammable material which he duly lit and started swinging around. Tho he clearly hadn't taken account of the dimensions of the Ash Tree's cramped stage as he managed to clout his guitarist on the back of the head with his swinging ball of fire, setting his hair ablaze. Chaos ensued
