I started going through my father's records when I was about 13. I'm very proud of my father being on the Brighton scene in his youth and seeing The Stones and Hendrix amongst many. My mother saw The Beatles as well. I've seen The Stones, Ray Davis and Brian Wilson with my father over the years and his interest in music, and The Albion, has stuck with me all my life and I cannot see it ever ending.
Mine wasn't really into music but I do remember Geoff Love's 'Big War Movie Themes', The William Tell Overture and Dave Brubeck's 'Take Five' playing at home. He also loved 'Mull of Kintyre' by Paul McCartney.
My old man is a big Neil Diamond, John Denver, Bread, Glen Campbell fan....lot of easy listening stuff and i still love the stuff he listened to when i was a kid.
However, i don't think it went down too well when i was belting out "friggin in the riggin" as a youth !!!!!!!
When my daughter was 10 she asked me to buy a Kylie or Jason tape (yes, it was that long ago). So with a bit of paternal wisdom I bought her the Best of Jimi Hendrix.
