Anyone who isn’t flawed, won’t be on this earth but sitting on a cloud with JC and his Dad.
Apologies if I offended any fellow NSCers yesterday with my original RIP thread, allegedly when we cross the rainbow bridge we all get forgiven for our sins on earth, so technically old Phil should now be resting in a better place.
Where has the original Phil Spector RIP thread gone?
‘Old Phil’. You’re better than that Ian. Do you refer to Peter Sutcliffe as ‘Old Pete’ or Jeremy Bamber as ‘Old Jezza’ ?
Good producer though.
Flawed is one way to put it.
Not sure he deserves a commemorative thread.

As the OP I asked to have it taken down, because I'd clearly misread the situation, for which I have already apologised.
Unfortunately he was a tormented genius, who had a dark side which had shattering consequences.
A troubled soul that’s for sure..
Further thoughts if I may. People are more concerned about his bad character than his musical accomplishments.
I just wonder , if a truly world class footballer had the same experiences would we be talking about his abilities or his shortcomings?
I give you a name, Maradona. He too was known to shoot guns at people as well as well documented drug use. I get that he was not convicted of murder but he was still a s*** person . When he died recently he received more fond memories of his skill in the game than criticism for his shortcomings as a human being.
Big fan of the wall of sound. Not so much of the domestic violence and murder.
