Spotted some Liberty Caps on my morning walk today, a class A drug and illegal to pick since 2005
When we had the very uneven lawn at Jakarta Towers re-done from seed a few years back the chap who did it dug over the old one and then spread the best part of a foot of new soil mixed with spent compost from a local Mushroom Factory - locals to RH20 will know who they are.
As a consequence we get shrooms coming up out the lawn on a regular basis. I presume if they are from the Factory they MUST be edible?
I picked what I thought were Chanterelles yesterday-

Turns out they were False Chanterelles. Easy mistake for a beginner to make.

Stumbled upon a couple of clumps of these unusual Mushrooms, which I have never come across before. Anyone have any idea what they are? I found them yesterday afternoon whilst walking the hound in the country. I chanced it and added them to the Sunday roast and must say it was the best roast dinner I have ever had!
Can I just say that totally unintentionally this has become Crodo's most successful thread
I thought this mushrooming thread was some sort of sex activity ??That I had never heard of !
No idea what they are, but found these on a walk in the woods this afternoon...
Nice pics
Particularly the Porcelain Fungus (pic 3)

Cross check online or with a book, there is a nasty one called a Yellow Stainer that looks very like a field/horse mushroom, if cut and heated it turns bright yellow.... avoid !
