Your right in regard to players that the parent club are keen for them to get out and get games.

For example I’d imagine several of our younger players that are on loan I would expect we are picking up a % of the wages for clubs that are unable to afford the wages of players we want to be getting game time.

However for examples like Glenn and Knocky we would probably be expecting the loaning club to be picking up 100% of the wages. Why would we be helping Celtic for example, if they want him and we aren’t actively looking to move him on why would we be paying any of his wages.
Tough crowd.

Maybe the club want to do right by GM?

The only thing possibly in the way of his swansong is his sky high wages, which the Albion will be paying anyway.

Murray has been very involved in bringing a few hundred million pounds into this club so I dont think they are going to **** around about this stuff the final 6 months of his contract. If he wants to go to a club that cant pay the whole wage, I think Bloom/Potter would allow him.

Can see the Celtic thing happening. He’ll make the bench (looking increasingly less likely he’ll do so for us), will get a bit of game time, will probably knock a few in and be an instant hero and potentially pick up a couple of medals. It’s an easier commute for him than say Forest too. For the club, Celtic will pay a fair % of his wages compared to a championship club. Can’t see any PL taking him (if we’d even allow it anyway).

It’d only be for 4 months, then he can retire from playing back in sunny Sussex.

Possibly

I’d argue that allowing him to go out on loan is doing the right thing by GM.

I’d have no problem in us paying a % depending on who he is going to.... Forest no problem but Celtic could go f**k themselves.... They have plenty of ££££

If this is to be his last season playing I don't see the distance being a problem.
"Ok love I will retire and spend lots more time with you and the kids, bit first I'm going to disappear to Scotland for a few months and live a lonely monastic lifestyle of training, cryotherapy, massage, yoga and sleep as I have a final tilt at glory"

if his last season id wonder why bother going on loan? shirley the point of a move now would be to invite another season playing somewhere.

I would go to Celtic personally, bang in 10 goals be adored by a load of jocks and then retire

I would imagine even you could! :lolol:

Cannot see him being released unless we have a replacement lined up

Yes, Murray won't go until after the Bournemouth game anyway.

Meaningful medals? with Celtic? We all know that they just have to turn up to win them!

So national titles and cup wins are not meaningful because its Scotland? What about Spanish titles do they count ? Not much different to Scotland really in as much as one of two clubs have won it 18 times in 20 years .
Are you going to tell Roy Keane, Duncan
Ferguson and Terry Butcher their medals arent meaningful?

Under no circumstances should he be allowed to move to any of our PL relegation rivals. I can't believe Bloom would ever sanction that.

Not sure Murray would want to either. I cant imagine he would be very motivated to score goals that potentially sent us down.

Yeah it won't happen.
Not sure there is that much in it for Glenn tbf.
Unless they want to buy him and offer an 18 month contract (they won't)

He's a pro, that wouldn't even come in to it. He scored goals for that south London filth that helped keep us down, even against us!

If it is a loan, there would be a clause preventing from playing us.

To be fair, I'm not convinced he would fire Villa or Newcastle up the league, so I'm pretty easy going about it

Despite the talk of Forest, or Celtic, or Reading, or Newcastle, or Villa, or .... or .... or ...., I still think his likely best option is Millwall.
