[Albion] Murray - class is permanent if you give him some time on the pitch

I've got nothing new to say.

I can hardly roll my eyes at Spence only to then keep climbing up onto my soapbox.

Would you like a comment?
So you're behind giving Murray a 6 month contract extension if he gets another 4 or 5 goals ?

*wink*

( This is just to prod SB. There is no inside info here lol ).

Would love to see Glenn start with Maupay vs Watford. We've missed his ability to hold the ball up this season and bring others into the game as well as his goalscoring abilities, i think he would be the ideal partner for Maupay.

If i were Potter (who i think has done some good work to persuade him to stay during this window), i'd offer him another year without question.

He's a better, more clinical finisher than Maupay and Connolly combined IMO. I would love to see him used as a target man as well with either of the two dwarves playing off him.

I get excited about all the balls being headed back across the box and down to the feet of either striker by Glen.

Teddy Sheringham was still banging in Premier League goals at the age of 40 so why not Gen?

Pearson on Super Sunday has just said it looked like handball and he would be seething if it happened to him. When Kammy said it was proved it wasn't he still didn't accept it. What a prick

In all honesty, I doubt Glenn will be up against a more haphazard defensive group again this season.
The clamouring for his return and what he will be able to achieve is probably based more on sentiment than reality.

However after the lack of a replacement striker in the window, he is an option that will have to be used.
Hats off to Potter for picking him to start in the one game he was most likely to affect.

I find Pearson unnerving. Like he’s always just a moment away from kicking off.

No way was it handball. By the second or third slow-mo, it was patently clear that the ball had only struck Muzza’s torso.

Pearson’s a prick on this.

T'was a odd game.

I had plenty of time to say:-

"that's handball"
"I wouldn't be celebrating, if I were you"
"See"
then finally
"Oh maybe not"

For Gross' goal, jnr shouted for the penalty

'He won't give that"
"It might go in, anyway"
"Yeah look it's going in"
"Blimey that took a while"

Reckon there's a significant number of high value footballers who respond well to being psychologically intimidated by the guvnor. Suddenly all their godlike social status is stripped back to nothing. They're suddenly not the messiah, they're just another naughty boy. Sir Alex F was past master at this. Of course, the skill is knowing which players it works with. Might produce extra effort out of Billy Bigbollox. Might equally reduce other players to a quivering jelly.

I don't see it like that, not anymore.

The stereotype suggests 10 years of being beatified and pampered, to get to the point of earning £50k to £100k week, would make you less likely to take on board the ragings of a man with next to nothing backing it up.

Sir Alex had to ship out the deadwood.
Bring in 'his' kids, who idolised him.
Then build from that structure handed down through the likes of Neville and Scoles (bypassing Eric!)

If you've played for Barca and AC getting bawled out by Pearson has to lose it's effectiveness quickly.

Disagree. Most footballers aren't that bright. Most never mentally left school. They've been told what to do, where to go, what to wear since the year dot. Many respond positively to the equivalent of a Drill Sergeant. Others of course don't.

We played to Murray’s strengths, long ball to him to hold up or lay off but unlike last year there was support around him as soon as he got the ball. Bodes well for us as it’s another GP game plan to throw into the mix. Last year he was mostly completely isolated
