Away at Leeds when he scored - he appeared to scuff it.

He does not look a natural penalty taker to me. I suspect there must be someone better at the club.

How can a 20+ a season player not look a natural penalty taker from 12 yards with just a keeper to beat?

Thank god we practiced penalties pre season otherwise Murray may not have even hit the target with his penalty.....:jester:

Listen to the Gus post match interview - not happy that we make chances and don't score. Gus thinks we should score from the spot too. THe new guy is here to put the ball in the net etc - lets hope Gus is right, the future will be good if he is

When he walked up to take that penalty, all I could think of was Gillingham. I just knew it.

if the keeper guesses right then it's an easy save.

Incorrect. If you saw andy gray's summery of penalty's the other week you would understand. If a penalty is the right zone with enough power, no goalie will save it, evan if he guesses the right way. However, if it is a poor pen, then i agree with you.

Possibly the best penalty I have seen taken was Zidane's against England at Euro 2004 - hit with power and accuracy right in the top corner.
Alan Shearer was good from the spot but if I had to choose someone to take a penalty to save my life it would have to be Eric Cantona.

Give it to Holroyd!!!! He is going to score one eventually...

Think Sandaza is here to take penalties, or maybe we should give Barnes/Sparrow a go. Bennett is confident at set pieces, so is always going to be a threat from 12 yards. His pen against Bristol Rovers was spot on...Boom tish

Definately NF9/TheWizard

Anyway Holroyd missed his peno in pre season so i don't think so.

I'd say Bennett or Sparrow.
