MSN Messenger - Who uses it?

Tim, I've tried using MSN for web cams but found it utterly useless. I use Yahoo for that and it's fine.

I've got XP which loads Messenger automatically and, to be honest, it drove me mad. Probably because I work from home and, no matter what I set my status as, I could guarantee that when I was right in the middle of something complicated a Messenger window would pop up. I felt really rude ignoring them or answering people with "I'm too busy for this right now" so I uninstalled the whole thing!

I've heard Trillion is good though. Does anyone use it?

I use aol mainly (we actually use it at work, it's our chosen way to communicate with journalists over the globe).

I do use msn sometimes, but mainly because I have a mate who works for Microsoft in Seattle and MS won't allow aol on their network.

Roz, you can set the status to 'appear offline' so that people won't know that you are there.

I've also got XP and being on broadband I leave the pc on all the time.

I don't have Messenger at work so to avoid confusion when I am at work I change the status to offline.

I do, but only to be alerted when new emails arrive - I'm not a great one for chatting on it.

Used it for a while but found it obtrusive and distracting, unlike NSC of course
