He is the Training Manager for Preston Referees Society and a Level 3 Referee Tutor, working with the Society’s Development team coaching and encouraging up and coming officials.

The Salisbury family are no strangers to officiating, with Michael’s Dad, Graham, also a referee.

Two posts down from that -

"Never mind he's from Preston look what he did to Brighton the other day."

They're also pretty well aware that Preston have no love from Burnley. What is worrying is, after he's forced his boss to have to apologise for his rank incompetance, that he's got a chance to f*** up tonight as well. His chronic error has been acknowledged - he ought at least to be suspended for a while, not handed another match fee.
The irony is he reffed that game perfectly well last night, making a considered decision over a penalty shout and a red card (not in Bumley's favour).

Perhaps it was in on field referee rather than the VAR ref who f***ed us over at Spuds?

Or maybe it was all a horrible coincidence or a perfect storm of unconscious bias.

Dermot Gallagher basically alluded to that especially the way Attwell signalled play on, it indicated beyond doubt he was happy he managed not to see any incident where he may have had to give something to Brighton. As Gallagher said that makes the VAR ref's job much harder to overrule him. He did though manage to find a handball for the second goal which no one at all has been able to find yet.

Whether there's corruption or cheating going on who knows?

I think in the cold light of day and after all the anger most sensible football fans will be reseting back to the conclusion of standard incompetence rather than the extreme notions of corruption, cheating etc.

Most sensible football fans are angry and very concerned that highly trained officials could get so many decisions so wrong due to incompetence.

What grinds most fans gears are it's fine for Webb to talk to club blah blah blah. How about going on Sky Sports News and be open to questions from the pundits to understand how the process of not being able to see the blindingly obvious when faced with loads of TV screens.

Clear and obvious was supposed to remove subjective decisions but all it's done is completely f*** up the process. A two handed pull back on a shirt is not subjective it's f***ing obvious. For that alone Attwell should be stood down for a long time.

His performance last night is irrelevant. He shouldn't have been there -for the level of incompetance on Saturday, sanctions are warranted - and being given another job stright away isn't a sanction!

As I have posted elsewhere, there have been many examples of corrupt officials across the world and in some of the top leagues.
Why should the EPL be exempt?

If every team was being screwed over the same number of times in a season, yes, you could put it down to incompetence. But it doesn't seem to be working out that way.

I didn’t watch but didn’t he try and award a penalty for a foul 2 yards outside the box and be corrected by a lino?

Gave Burnley a penalty for a foul 2 feet out of the area. Lino bailed him out.

Fun fact: the lino who bailed him out is from....Brighton.
