Agreed, but its not like she carries the film. Anyone could've played Annie. The prosecution would also like the court to consider Exhibit B: Speed 2: Cruise Control.

Furthermore, the prosecution would like to place on record that much the same as the presence of Christian Slater on a movie poster, if Sandra Bullock's name appears amongst the cast, then the film can almost without exception be instantly dismissed as a dud. Anyone expecting to "enjoy" a film starring either of these two actors, or (god forbid) both of them, should be dragged into the street by the hair and beaten to death with their own shoes.

No further questions.

Case in the defence of Slater C. ; Very Bad Things. Makes the Hangover films look worse than they already are, and did it 10 years earlier

The Sting
Once upon a time in the west
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Cat on a hot tin roof
True Grit, both with the second being especially disapointing

Heathers, Young Guns 2, True Romance - all outstanding works of art.

I rewatched Robin Hood:pOT recently and was surprised how ****ing awful it was.

Admittedly he's been having a bit of a rough spell since 1993.

True Romance is up there with Inception in the category of most overrated film of all time. Slater, touted as the next Jack Nicholson back in the day proved to be anything but unfortunately.

Agree with Easy about the wedding bit in The Deer Hunter - it goes on forever. Build the backstory by all means, but to that extent! That said, good film, De Niro's beard notwithstanding.

Actually you;re right in that it's not as good as either Heathers or Young Guns 2 - both of which are nearly perfect films.

Inception is a load of bollocks as well.

You cannot be SERIOUS.. are you talking about the originals or remakes here?

Once Upon a Time in the West probably the BEST Western ever. Followed by Butch..

(Blazing Saddles not included as it was a comedy).

I know I'll get slated for this but TAXI DRIVER. Maybe it was because it had been bigged up so much by other people, but I just didn't get what the fuss was all about.

Agree with LOTR and The Matrix Revolutions (I quite enjoyed the second one though).

Oh and I watched Lucy last week which someone mentioned, great premise, GASH execution.

Go and watch "Far From the Madding Crowd". rereleased, fantastic.

Julie Christie to die for. Apparently the chemistry between her and Terrence Stamp was for real. Stamp said in an interview that Schlesinger didn't rate him though, he wanted a blond (Peter O'Toole?)

Wouldn't have worked though, Stamp is a gypsyesque figure with a sword. He had to practice it a long time because he is left-handed and Schlesinger wanted the swordwork done right-handed.

.

Me neither. Real chore of a film to sit through, but retains an aura around it in popular culture because of its iconic poster and a couple of apparently profound lines uttered by De Niro. See also Mean Streets.

12 Years a slave. I really struggled to stay awake during this film.
It's a shame nobody repeatedly whipped you through the arduous process of watching

Nope, I'll give you that.....as long as you let me have Clockwork Orange?

As others have previously mentioned Wolf of Wall Street had been made out to me as being the best film of the century. Watched it and thought it was ****ing boring!

Personally I didn't expect to ENJOY A Clockwork Orange. I expected it to be very weird and it was very weird.

I did quite enjoy Wolf of Wall Street but it certainly wasn't as good as everyone made out.
