An opinion, obviously.

I was very vocal about Stephens’ pathetic red the other day. Most on here agreed but some started quoting all the dangerous shite...

I appreciate the rules are a bit different too BUT...

Their guy goes in to win the ball, studs are up and catches Bissman, but not full on. I just find it hard to justify that as a red. It’s dangerous play when 2 players go up for the same ball full blooded in the air. There are dangers in the game always.

I just find football a little bit dead with these red cards. I’m not surprised it was given etc and appreciate the rules are different as I say, but just don’t think these game changing reds help the game tbh.

chaileyjem posted a still of it on the match thread. Looked like an excellent and correct decision to me, studs almost in the knee cap. Way worse than the Stephens sending off the other week imo.

The players know perfectly well if they leave their studs on show like that they’re likely to injure another player. It isn’t a new revelation.

Look again. He didn't go for the ball: just threw his foot at Bissouma.

My stream was jittery on the replays. But I just find it soft. Djmiles you are correct though and it was very silly. Much more a red than Stephens one I’ll add. And the Hudds fans made themselves look silly booing Biss as the comms said.

Baloguns wasn’t a red for me but then I don’t think the one given was. I’m old school clearly.

Silly. That’s the point though isn’t it. What message would a yellow card send to the players? “You’ve done something silly, could have injured a player, but hey carry on playing so you can do it again”. Nah.

Mmmm I see what you mean but what you’ve also said is exactly what a yellow card is for! A warning like...

It just depends on the ref and how he perceives it. On a 50/50 decision they will sometimes send off, sometimes not. Some refs would have gone yellow, or in the case of Barton stamping Kayal they may wave play on. It is human judgement and no two are generally the same.
