Been going away since 2001 personally and worse was Luton. Bristol city and chesterfield also hairy.

Leeds away, 1982, old first division. They needed to win to have any chance of avoiding relegation. We were comfortable in mid table.

Dreadful game, then on the hour Michael Robinson scored in front of their Kop, and ran to their fans giving it "You're going down" signs with his thumbs. They went completely mental for next half hour. At the opposite end to their Kop were a bunch of fans who proceeded to ignore the game and tried to scale the fences to get into the away pen (we had about 100 at the match). They were pointing at us, giving the throat slit signs, and the police said they would do their best to get us to the station in police vans but couldn't give any guarantees if the pitch was invaded from all directions.

In injury time Leeds scored twice, the only time I've been relieved by an Albion defeat, terrifying experience all round.

The following Thursday Leeds went to West Brom, again needing a point, lost and destroyed the Hawthorns.

My first away game and had to go to the ground to get match tickets from a pompey player,Brighton mob turned up but got run by pompey(much to Portsmouth surprise tbf

Remember it well, Majority of Brighton fans all left with about 10 minutes to go, Portsmouth came storming in towards the few of us left. I said you're to late they've all gone and the answer "they f.....g left you though, nothing really happened, couple of punches so not the worse.

Blimey, I'm surprised you went to another!

I was with my father and I was only a kid.
We were nearly at WHL before the match and I heard " let's follow the Brighton fans" I had an Albion scarf on but my dad didn't wear colours, he was actually a Spurs fan anyway. Nothing really bothered him and we just carried on walking to the ground.
Spurs fans came into our terrace near the end of the match, but we were at the front so well out of the way.

I had been to WHL with my father before the Albion match, I never supported Spurs but liked going to any matches back then. I had seen far more trouble at some of the other matches I went to at WHL.

Any Yorkshire club during the early 80s..... Sheff Utd in particular..... Millwall late 70s.... Cardiff anytime at Ninian.....

The old away end at The Dell was an experience after games too.

Reading other clubs forums over the years, a recurring theme was trepidation about the following:

Boro in the streets outside Ayesome Park
Derby in the narrow streets outside the Baseball Ground
Anything Liverpool and Everton.

Seemed to be huge numbers of 'brave' nutters.

Ninian park 1976 Mellor scored no segregation celebrated(bad move) got chased out the ground by 40 odd Cardiff at the age of 15 Worst watching England Turin 1980 chased by youths with knives chains on three different days before England played,two of us in hotel and the manager would not let us out as Italians waiting outside for us and one point we had the wardrobe up against the door When we did chase them off with a few other England fans we were rounded up at gunpoint and taken to the local nick.held till late at night then released after getting told by the police there was mob italians waiting out side,16 of us made our way back to our hotels one got stabbed another a broken leg

Went to Liverpool three years ago to see them play Wigan with father in law. Parked in a quiet street near Stanley Park, not really looking the right place. Bloke pulls up: "Shouldnt park here if you want to see your car afterwards...." in that kind scouse accent.

As many others have mentioned Millwall away in the playoff semi final although I seem to remember we had 1500 - 2000 ish there. Some bizarre encounters/close calls at Swindon, Lincoln. Also Canvey Island away was quite tasty.

We were behind the goal and spurs mob came piling through the crowd from the back punching as many as possible and just ran out of steam before reaching ourselves,home game was also intresting

We were in the shelf as well (well in the lower tier) as we got there late. We watched at half-time as some Spurs fans attacked anyone in the Brighton end. At the end Albion fans had to go on the pitch to escape the carnage..

We just kept our heads down as we left the ground. It seemed like hundreds of Spurs fans massing outside looking for anyone wearing Blue and White.

Millwall 76 was not great tbf with Brighton and Millwall both going for promotion and the good friday clash at the old den a good 5000 Brighton but segregation fell apart,the 3-1 home win knocked us out the top three and put millwall in our place.
Only been to the New Den with Bradford and seems a different ball game.
