Most embarrassing gig!

can i claim leo sayer at the bridge (sure its called that but f*** it,its been a long time. its the pub on the coast road before the airport- and not the one on the roundabout opposite)shoreham and also at the swiss cottage.

Leo Sayer used to sing at The Lady Jane, which was my 'local' (but not the nearest boozer). Nobody particularly liked his voice, which was a bit whinge-y (probably much like yours northstandnorth). He was in a group called 'Patches', and recorded one single (with a picture sleeve). He then went on to have a hit with 'I Won't Let The Show Go On', successful in part, due to the strange performance of it, dressed in a clown-suit (look in your wardrobe nsn, you must have several). Perhaps not knowing quite what to do with his hands, he flipped them around like a shaking puppet.

His writing partner, Dave Courtney, later wrote songs for Roger Daltrey's solo records, among others.

All of this knowledge of course, must be cut-n-paste - surely nobody can have really known about any of this by remembering it, from actually being there - can they northstandnob?

I thought this was an "embarrassing gig" thread... that's a claim to fame!

So did I

and Leo Sayer too, at around the same time :blush:

I saw Daphne and Celeste who recorded such singles as "Ohh Stick you, yo mamma too (and ya daddy)" and "U.G.L.Y" at party in the park - now that was tragic!

Quite why I went to see Sweet at the height of their Ballroom Blitz fame eludes me. But nothing eludes me as much as the Paul Revere and the Raiders gig that I attended back in the mists of time.

A close call between Let Loose who I saw as part of freshers week and 911 as part of the build up to a Sheffield Steelers game.

This will trump the lot of you

About 8 years ago I brought tickets for

Martine McCutcheon

And whats more a 100 round trip drive to the Portsmouth Guildhall.

I will say in defence the ex liked her and her perfect year song and on the spur of the moment I brought 2 tickets as a suprise. However the Gods were looking down on me and the gig was cancelled as she pulled out due to stress and I got a full refund of my monies.

Beat that.

When I was not old enough to know better, my Mum to us all to see 'The Kids from Fame' at the Brighton Centre. Now that truly, is tragic.

Tragic, but not as SHIT, as Roachford at the Dome!
