Starting a revolution from my bed
Here's a Friday conundrum for y'all.

Recently went to a wedding were there was THREE best men, which made me wonder how acceptable it is to have more than ONE best man at a wedding. I understand it's a bit of a recent phenomenon to have more than one to save awkward situations where the groom can't pick between two of his mates.

However, this strikes me as a bit of COP out, and - if anything - makes it more awkward when one of the best men produces a speech that shits on the other fella's, which is exactly what happened at the wedding I was at with three best men. It was a bit embarrassing for all concerned.

POLL.

Yesh, three bestest men doesn't really work. Must make organising the stag do a bit of a nightmare too.

The groom has potentially shot himself in the foot, all 3 might ask him to be their best man!

Three is a bit of a push, I had two, my brother and my best mate. Both know me very differently so made sense.

Went to one where the groom's two brothers were jointly best men - what could he do? How are you supposed to choose between your brothers, unless you're only close to one of them, for example? They worked on a joint speech, sharing the responsibility, rather than giving two speeches - it worked well, though one was a more confident speaker than the other.

We had three and we had an amazing wedding. Our two young sons were best men and also hubby's older brother. Elder son started the speech, passed on to his Uncle then youngest son finished the speech with the toasts. It's your wedding day so you should do what suits your personal circumstances. We wanted our boys to feel part of the wedding so we did it this way.

I had a best woman, as she was my oldest and best friend (other than why wife of course!). She wore a suit, did all of the best man bits and gave an excellent speech.

And as a bonus got her tits out?

I was one of about 10 at a mate's wedding, we all had different tasks/responsibilities.

Isn't that called being an Usher?

Organising stag weekend abroad
Organising 2nd stag weekend locally (for those who couldn't get abroad)
Standing at the front with the rings
One to do the speech
One organising at the church
One setting up all the A/V at the reception for speeches with photo montages etc
One organising games/activities at reception

I could go on

As someone said, it's up to you completely. With my mate, we honestly didn't expect him to do anything else, as we all knew he'd want to get several of us involved

My mate had two, me and another of our mates. I organised the stag night and did the ceremony stuff, the other one did the speech (much better than I could ever have done) it worked well and everyone was happy !

Very odd way of doing it.

Each to their own though.
