sorry just read this … but IKEA doesnt have any shareholders and isn't on the stock exchange. IKEA does however need to make a profit to continue to invest and expand. So yes a return on invest is very important. No Profit and The Vision vanishes.

None the less, I think Ikea's 'brand' is a tad misleading - It's no secret (but a far cry from their public persona) that they aim is to make stuff as cheap as humanly possible and then to hide the profits in their complex legal structure.

Probably got a massive donation from a former pupil :whistle::whistle::whistle:
:lolol::lolol::lolol:

Amusing thought and unlikely to be far from the truth. It is inconceivable that Lancing College would alienate Tony Bloom over this issue.

Is it also well known what "IKEA" actually do with these hidden profits...?

it's more what they don't do - Pay taxes!
I think there are much more important targets to crusade about in terms of paying tax.

IKEA seems to be a decent company - treat staff properly, anti-corporate greed and sustainability values put into practice.

A quick Google search suggests that IKEA have done well to achieve the above and still be consistently profitable over many years - producing millions/billions in tax revenues for countries worldwide at an average rate of around 25%....

In a way I don't care about Taxes on profits because all big companies avoid their share anyway.

More important is what happens in the local economy. More Business Rate income, more Council Tax income, more homes, more jobs that again boost local finances.
IKEA is not everybodies cup of tea but the site is an bloody eyesore adjacent to a layby I would not frequent after dark.

People moan about increased traffic but the proposed measures may actually improve things by taking away the awful Sussex Pad lights that are the current problem.

So a major east/west trunk road has to be concerned with a few cyclists, horses and Tristram's mum and dad leaving school? After the Shoreham disaster when Pad traffic had to turn left for a while, I don't remember any complaints or incidents there.

Not really concerned, just accommodating. :thumbsup:

Will really feel for commuters stuck on A27 during and after it is constructed if the deal goes through.

A27 is dreadful as it is and this will make it worse.

But if it means we can replace Locadia with a proper striker?
